Peter's caps definitely show grain futzing going on, but hopefully not much of an issue in motion. The rest of the image looks pretty nice.

They’re also 1080p caps, so hopefully grain is more faithfully resolved on the UHD.

Are those downscaled to 1080p from the UHD or are they from the bluray?

Just you aren't seeing the HDR. But the wide colour gamut can be perceived most obviously in the reds. Which look like highly accurate.

There's some very fine grain in those images, they look okay to me. Movies don't always have to have Sony Sandpaper grain, and while Warners may well have taken a little off the top this was never, ever some ultra-grainy flick to begin with. The negative wasn't push-processed and most of the time it was being drenched with light on set, thickly exposing it.

Indeed. That's Kubrick for you. Though I still remember it having a bit more grain.

Here's some 4K caps (MadVR HDR > SDR, 100 nits, JPEG quality 100)
I'm taking caps through Teamviewer so if any frames are too 'mid-movement', I'm sorry, I couldn't tell.

Starting with the most important one!
