I think that was concerning those that were merging the 4K video source with the OG mono from the Laserdisc

Thanks!

I’ll try it on a different player - maybe that’s the problem.

Hey Matt, I did have a slight audio sync problem as well - in the menu for my t.v., under AUDIO it has a SYNC selection - I just changed that and now the audio syncs up fine. Not sure all 4K t.v.s have this setting but I would hope they do!
Hope that helps!

Well this is concerning. Are the sync issues being noticed strictly on 4K TVs? I watched my copy on a standard 1080p TV and it was fine. Is it the dialogue that is out of sync?

Cheers! I have a 4K tv (no 4K player yet, though), it does have sync settings but I was listening to the audio via my amp so perhaps I need to tweak it from there.

Just to be clear, what I’m noticing is very slight - to the point that I wasn’t sure if it was my imagination!

I keep thinking about how great this sounded. I feel guilty for preferring the remix.

This is really a great looking and sounding release. I know there's always debates over the sound but I feel like it pulled me into the movie.

I never liked Saul Bass's artwork.

It's iconic, but so the variety's and variations of turds. Am I right? He's like that for me.

I understand why Kubrick wanted him to do it so the general public would subliminally recognize it retro/trendy/goofy font from Hitchcock and get more sales at the theatre. I mean just look at Kubricks notes on his art he rejected/hated for The Shining when you are bored, almost all of them LMBO! His comments.... It's hilarious.

Anyways I like this one because Kubrick liked TTCM, and it has that vibe which I love too!

I really don't unddrstand how somebody couldn't like that poster. For me it is iconic!
But to each his own.

I never liked the Saul Bass WB logo. In the 1970s, I hated it. I don't know why.

I liked it quite a bit but I loved the 90’s one.

The Saul Bass WB logo is my favorite mostly because it is so out there and unexpected.

Also like the Kinney Leisure Company logo is cool.

I do like the 1984 static shield

Once THE EXORCIST is finally released on 4K and it is missing the Bass logo that will be awful. The way it opens with that music cue over the Bass logo is perfection.

If they had used a red shield coming toward the camera on The EXORCIST blu ray, it would have worked.

I had to ask one of the Best Buy employees if they had any in the back, as there were no regular copies on the New Releases cabinet but maybe seven steelbooks. There were apparently three in the back, but they only bothered to bring one, for me. Makes me wonder if they keep them in the back so people will buy their more expensive steelbook exclusives.

I think the regular cover looks better. I'm not saying it's good either, but I just find putting "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" all over the package kind of lame. Makes the scene out to be more important than it really is, which is inevitable when a movie like this becomes a classic and is constantly referenced.

Gonna watch it tonight.

Most likely. When I bought the new 4K Aladdin (1992) a few weeks ago they only had the steelbooks out (which was what I wanted anyway) but not the regular cases even though the space was available for them. I bought it the day it was released right when they opened too. I remember this with another title as well but I can't remember which.

Had to ask for the Hocus Pocus steel last year as they had it in the back. Same with Alita 4K, but BB had plenty of copies of The Shining.

I’m watching it now and it looks sharp...what an incredible restoration! But the DolbyVision has the soap opera thing going on so it is distracting. Time to switch that mode off. Do people really enjoy that effect?

DolbyVision doesn't affect framerate. You need to check your TV, because it might be toggling motion interpolation and needs to be permanently turned off.
