Finally got around to watching this. Nothing to add; it looks fantastic.

Maybe I just hadn't paid attention before, but this was the first time I noticed that you can see the blades of the chopper at the top of the frame in that first aerial shot of the Overlook.

Wow, really? People have been going on about the rotor blades for years, the taller 4:3 version would naturally show more of them but even in the previous matted widescreen versions they're still plainly visible, just as they are on the new transfer.

Weird, I think I was always looking towards the bottom at the Overlook. Never noticed the top.

No worries, I love it when people notice something that's always been there despite them having missed it umpteen times before. Like with Blade Runner and Rachael in the background when Deck is buying his booze at the kiosk after killing Zhora, I saw that on the UHD and was like "WHAAAAAAAAAAAT???".

I always forget that some people haven't watched Blade Runner as many times as I have... even though I'm also acutely aware that I've watched it an unhealthy number of times.

Not to go competing or anything but I've genuinely lost count with how many times I've seen Blade Runner. I've bought it on so many different formats over the last 20 years (18 different versions at last count), saw it twice in the cinema when the Final Cut came out in 2007, have viewed the UHD several times etc. It's one of my favouritest films ever but sometimes you just don't see something until you see it, you're so focused on what the actual, well, focal point of the scene is that the rest is just noise.

I think you can see the shadow of the chopper in the Full Frame version.

I’ve seen that from the VHS and LD days. You officially just haven’t paid attention before, LOL.

This was the main thing that got my ass in gear to watch The Shining too lol! I'd always known about The Shining due to my dad being a major Stephen King fan but hadn't seen it yet. I haven't seen Twister since it was in the theatre and that is the only part I vividly remember.

I noticed several things right off the bat - the beautiful fall colors of the trees during the opening. The patch on the receptionists vest which says Overlook. Even the seams in the carpet were very noticeable in the 4K version. And, during the scene when Danny first goes to room 237, if you notice, there is a door open on the right side of the hallway, it looks to be a supply closet.

This is my favorite 4k transfer on a catalog title thus far.

Best buy didn't have scarface or american gangster so I got this masterpiece only. I'm definitely excited but feel like 25 was too high. Oh well, you guys say the pq is amazing and I believe.

$25 can turn into $20 (or less) if there’s a price adjustment in the near future.

Actually it is the helicopter from The Thing, they share the same Horror universe. Kubrick was ahead of his times.
[Show spoiler]No... actually WB is just stupid and wouldn't know what an AR is if it bit them in the face.

How does price matching work at best buy? I've never done it
