I recently got the original PAL DVD release of the film due to the original mono track, was honestly surprised seeing the Saul Bass logo at the start. Shame that one has to create their own file if they want to see the film with the original audio mix, but alas...

Just sold a new sealed copy on eBay of the Best Buy steelbook since I had an extra copy. Seller got it and than in just under an hour filed a dispute with eBay and wanted a refund saying the disc was scratched. So I offered a partial refund of $60 since they opened it up. So I got nowhere and I decided to just honor the return since they were unhappy. Got the return back today and it's just a used 4K steelbook of The Shining with the two discs. Discs look ok. No j-card, digital code, or plastic wrap sent back. I even sent them a steelbook protector and did not get it back. I obviously just got screwed on eBay. What do you guys think? That was pretty frustrating it was brand new and I kept it on a shelve. Should I block the buyer?

Definitely. I would also contact the bay and advise them that they didn't return everything like the code see what happens. pm me and I will block on principle.

Just so it doesn't happen again i would change your return policy to "seller does not accept returns."

Thanks for all your help and comments. I did say no returns this is what I said in listing "no returns if opened and there are dings, dents or any minor damage". The listing also states no returns. I'll just block this seller and move on and take the loss. Pretty frustrating as a seller to get screwed over like that but it happens I guess. That buyer clearly had an agenda. I offered a partial refund of $60 and told the buyer to keep item and rebuy the regular UHD since it's the same version. Nope, declined it. As well as after filing the dispute buyer did not answer any of my messages to try and resolve the matter. Huge red flag there I was about to get screwed on eBay.

Honestly, you're better off selling at other places and forums.

I don't really sell much of anything, but anytime I have (movies or not) I've done so face to face. That way if they try and pull some bullshit, I can "deal with them" right there. I'll take a little less selling to used item stores, through friends or even want ads (complete with phone and address) to know everything is in order once I've sold something. Sorry you got screwed over. That's never acceptable.

I see your point there and I agree. To be honest though this is the first time on eBay I have gotten screwed over from a buyer other than non payment.

Face to face would be perfect but it''s harder to sell movies for a profit like that face to face. Just a guess but the buyer likely had a used 4K steelbook of the movie they were not happy with for whatever reason and than when they got the brand new one they sent that back to me and pulled a fast one. That's likely what happened here.

I absolutely despise selling anything online. It could be worth $100, you're selling for $50, and they still want it way cheaper. Not talking Ebay but more online selling platforms like Marketplace and Kijiji here in Canada. I have doubles and triples of a lot of movies and after trying a few times to sell, I just can't be bothered anymore. People are infuriating and always trying to get everything for nothing...or they don't show up for the meet

Does anyone know where I could get some custom artwork for this? The cover is really ugly.

Sadly this doesn't really do anything anymore. I had sold a brand new cash register terminal still sealed, untested etc. I made it SO freaking very clear that I do not take returns and that I will even unbox and test the item after you buy it if you're that concerned. Yes, I had my profile itself set to No Returns.

Seller receives it and instantly files a dispute saying it doesn't power on. It instantly locked my eBay funds because the dispute said I sold something that didn't match the listing description or something.

Turns out the buyer was just a spaz and never even opened the manual. The device has two power switches, which the manual clearly shows, and he was only using one of them.

After that I pretty much stopped selling on eBay. If the seller can be taken advantage of that easily, where my funds are locked due to a dispute on a No Returns listing, then I'm done. No thanks.

Sure, block the buyer although it only means they cannot bid on any more of your items, they can still buy from others. I don’t care how much extra you can make for sealed items, I would never sell anything online without being able to prove what the contents are and what condition they are in. In a situation like this it’s your word against theirs and eBay leans heavily in favour of buyers.
