Part 3 shows what happens when your passion project flops and you're strapped for cash (One from the Heart).

I don't know how many people have had an alcoholic parent, but Jack's conversation with Danny on the bed was right out of my childhood. I have never really seen a scene like that in a movie before. It was creepy.

When it's the mafia story-line, sure, but all the extraneous information on characters who aren't even that relevant to the plot is very distracting. Plus, it suffers from "no main character syndrome," whereas in the films, Michael is very clearly the main character, so it's better structured.

I know what you mean, but it does give the book a ton of richly drawn characters that were very important to the movie. The only badly written character in the book is Fredo. Hats off to John Cazale for improving on the book.

I think he did just fine. Every mob film over the past 40 years borrows from that book. It was a huge best seller before the movie was released and almost every scene in the first movie is in that book.

Nah, you said you don't think horror can usually sustain a 2-hour runtime, I said that it can and The Shining is good proof of that. Anyone can say any x-genre or x-movie "usually can't do specific thing" and anybody can pull anything out of their hat to object to that. I was literally disagreeing with you and stated why. I don't have to state "now now this is an opinion" before every single sentence for you to know this. I mean what I say, and say what I mean, if it were fact you bet ur bumbum I'd say so. Now, you can either continue to talk about the movie and aesthetics or take jabs at my character instead.

Nah, once again you're just presenting your opinion as though it is some sort of fact and expecting to be taken seriously.

The whole point of a forum is exchange, a back and forth of different ideas. If you're posting something and don't want anyone elses take on it I don't get why you'd post anything at all. It's usually a given that a post is someone's opinion and that doesn't need to be stated. Just pretend there's an invisible little 'imo' at the start of every post.

Yes you care so little you go to the trouble of not just responding more than once but strawmmanning on an internet forum over disagreeing with aesthetics. Not mutual indeed! Stay salty and happy collecting!

I thought Part II was a largely original venture knocked out by Puzo and Coppola.
