Just to let you know Montana won his first Super Bowl and his first MVP in SB XVI without Rice .

As well as his second of each in SB XIX

that team was beast though and his Superbowl performance was nothing to brag about. 14/22 157 yds and a td.. just look at his other superbowl and season performances when he had Rice.. much different.. and Freddie Solomon wasn't too shady

Doesn't matter. He won 2 SB's without Rice and was the MVP in 3 out of 4 of them. I would pick him over Favre any day of the week. Not everything is about compiling stats...

Ranking current QBs
Manning
Brady
Brees
Honestly Brees deserves to be on this list, when he's done he will probably be top 5 or 10 all-time in several categories, at least 1 ring and he's one of the best men in the league.

of course not. but Favre was amazing in my eyes. I feel like a lot of people remember the last 2-3 years Favre played. oppose to the prime of his career, they are both 2 of the greatest to play the game. But Favre has to get the edge for me.. also the Montana's 49ers and Favres Packers were totally different teams. if you swapped QBs Favre would have won more than 1 superbowl

Brees may end up around the Top 25, but not even close in the Top 10.. since you're obsessed with Rings Roethlisberger and Eli Manning have more rings and they are current QBs

To me it says something that most Packers fans I ask rank Bart Starr and Aaron Rodgers ahead of Brett Favre, in large part due to Favre's inability to get more than 1 ring in the 90s and his tendency to throw a game-deciding INT in big games.

can't blame a game on one single person.. football is played with 11 guys on each side of the ball.. many people tend to forget that and put the blame on one person

Everyone does realize that Peyton will most likely pass Favre in every stat except for his consecutive games played streak.

My top 10 in no particular order. My top 10 is based on the QB's I've watched since 1992.

Brett Favre
Peyton Manning
John Elway
Warren Moon
Steve Young
Kurt Warner
Joe Montana
Dan Marino
Tom Brady
Troy Aikman

Noteworthy
Phil Simms
Jim Kelly
Randall Cunningham
Drew Bledsoe
Ben Roethlisberger

1. Elway
2. Montana
3. Brady
4. Manning
5. Unitas
6. Favre
7. Marino
8. Aikman
9. Bradshaw
10. Starr

I put a lot of stock into playoff success, so the reason I wouldn't put Manning or Favre into my top five is because each only has one Super Bowl win. If Manning won another Super Bowl I might put him above Brady, but Brady would still have two more Super Bowl appearances and one more Super Bowl win, and I'd have trouble putting Manning above Brady just because he has been a better regular season player.

He would not be in my top 10. He won his MVPs when there were no other strong QBs playing. When the strong QBs came in the late 90s, his MVPs dried up.

All he did his entire career was throw the ball up and hope his player came down with it. And a lot of the time, he was wrong.
