I don't think any reasonable people are suggesting it is a large problem, from what I know it may happen less than 1% of the time.

However my initial response to you was in regards to your saying "people who aren't sick don't test positive," which imho is a very broad generalization.

So, yeah in some cases you can come across people who are healthy yet test positive, and it isn't super common but it does happen.

Your original statement would have been more accurate if you had said "most people who aren't sick won't test positive unless it's a false positive, which happens very rarely"

Yeah it sounds like hair-splitting maybe but we should aim for accuracy when something can affect people's health to such an inordinate degree, imho.

1) not getting sick is better then treatment

2) what he was given is extremely strong cocktail and there is the possibility of serious side effects

3) one guy who's condition is not known before and, no matter what is said, who's outcome is not known (there have been a lot of people that have been released and later needed to go back into hospital because of Covid-19) is not scientific proof of anything.

Which is why I still haven't taken up my municipality's offer to get tested. What's the point of getting tested anyway if I test negative today but can get infected tomorrow? If I'm reluctant to getting a test just once I don't imagine going through it on a weekly basis.

My dad is coming up to visit from the Caribbean. As much as I'd like to spend some time with him I think he's taking a huge risk by traveling, especially now with surging cases in my area. Masks help but they're not 100% effective. All I can do is hope for the best since he's determined to come up for a baptism (I'm the Godfather).

And the crazy thing is, you have go out and get tested. The best way to keep yourself and others safe is to stay home as much as possible. But the only way to get tested is to go out and go to a testing center and stay in line with hundreds of other people (some or many of whom could be infected and transmit the disease to you).

I obviously can't speak to all cities/towns (including yours), but in our city....they have drive through testing. You stay in the car, the nurse walks you through the process and you drop your enclosed swab in a container....you never leave your car or come into contact with anyone other than the front line nurse.

So there are processes out there that are safe (as possible) ways to get tested.

Actually yeah they do. In fact, masks are so effective that health experts are even claiming that this pandemic can be gone in as little as three months if EVERYONE wore a mask.
