Yeah, I CAN'T BELIEVE that they won't give us LOLITA or LYNDON right now, all we've got is 2001, FULL METAL JACKET, THE SHINING, PATHS OF GLORY, EYES WIDE SHUT, CLOCKWORK ORANGE, etc.

![]() Blasphemy, I know, but I'm not sure I _need_ K and KK on BD. Sad, but true... Now, the lost films being released, that'd be pretty cool (even though they're no doubt not very good) |

![]() I don’t know if you’ve watched the show but, in the new TV series Hawaii Five-O, one of the main characters (Danno) has the ringtone for his ex-wife being the infamous sound effect from Psycho. ![]() |

heh, my ringtone is the theme of Shakey Pictures (downloadable as a link via BD-Live from the Neil Young Archives). Almost as spooky. I write as I'm testing my new SVS sub to see how it integrates with the system. Blaring the DVD-Audio of "Prophet Song" by Queen, and I'm sure my neighbours are enjoying that fact... Speaking of creepy, off to see SALO tonight, presented by John Waters. Let that image set in for a bit... ![]() |

In regards to the post I made on the last page concerning The Karate Kid (2010), I received several PMs essentially asking me if/how can I reconcile the information which I provided….with that of the master format as listed in the Technical specs for this motion picture on the IMDB website.
Quite simply, my answer is that the IMDB Tech specs apparently are not completely accurate. |

What that means is….not settling for inferior 2K proxies to work with during the filmmaking process. So, not just 4K scanning, but also, subsequently working completely within the 4K realm (whether it be filmmaking or, for that matter, restoration) ultimately affects and results in a more precise appearance for everything else downstream, i.e. the HD masters, and even the Blu-rays. You see, color grading isn’t just adding ‘color’ to thee original capture, it also involves a host of other digital tools, such as defocus, grain/noise reduction and sharpening . |
