True - I was trying to refer to when legislation is passed; it really comes down to the President, House, and Senate.

A contribution from Deci on another thread.....

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...78&postcount=4

By the way, Deci travels to different time zones to attend symposiums like this………………
http://www.amianet.org/events/thereelthing/program.htm
and rumor has it, he is so picky about visual imagery, that he attempted to place a Reserved sign on *his seat* located at the perfect visual sweet spot in the auditorium during the Screenings……so that nobody would take his spot.

Fortunately, a few of the more common sense members are chiming in on that remark.
but that is the problem with AVS as it has become, you have the few that actually know what they are talking about, that chime in when it gets real idiotic but you have the masses posting real stupid stuff all the time.

(Logged in I'm still denied access to the images. )

This is a point that seems to be really difficult to get across. Depending on the project, the set of folks that can speak with real authority on how a film should look is really quite small, isn't it? My inclination is to think that one needs to have seen an answer print; is that an oversimplification?

Well I don’t understand why you don’t have access to the pics (perhaps PM a mod for help), it opens up fine for me…………….

On the other hand, I have access to insider/insider threads where we discuss things like, as it stands now , don’t get your hopes up too high for lossless audio on the upcoming Blu-ray Amadeus, which despite this premium access, can definitely have an immediate downside when another moderator makes the hilariously sarcastic comment ……….why not, “it’s only f****** Mozart”…..

which made me spill my coffee all over my lap.

Thanks Grubert!..............I’m staying out of that subforum for awhile, just as a protective measure in order to save on upcoming dry-cleaning bills.

If Amadeus doesn't have lossless I think I may drive to Warner and have a frank discussion with someone in charge!

The images posted, originally used by the ASC, are also unfortunately misleading. What was occurring can be handled in neither a thousand word piece or a one minute discussion.

What those shots actually show, and one really needs to see them in motion, is the disparity between the myriad of uncorrected dupes created to make the sequence presentable in 1972, and what we were able to harvest and basically correct from the OCN and YCMs used to create the dupe then cut into the conformed original. I fear that ultimately for most purposes the frames do not and cannot tell the tale.

There is no confirmed stats on Amadeus, PERIOD

Amadeus was originally intended for release over a year ago, and at the time it was DD only because it was pointed for HD DVD and a very long movie

This does not necessarily mean that there is no lossless now, over a year later

We have a call in, we hope to have news soon

While you at it (on that call to WB), please gently remind them that EVERY blu-ray title... everyone... should be lossless. This includes "old mono movies" and TV shows. Just present them losslessly, and let the audiophile consumer worry about whether he or she can hear a difference.

Well I've been more than willing to cut WB some slack on their titles ... for stepping up to end the war. However, this would be *the* title were lossy would be unforgivable. This movie is a masterpiece and should be treated accordingly .. even if it means delaying it.

Besides TrueHD audio I hope Amadeus has both cuts (seamless branching). I really dislike not being able to get the original version, like Troy.

I can't confirm audio specs yet, but the HD DVD encode of Amadeus which was done two years ago will NOT be the one released on Blu-ray.

This has been re-encoded and should take up quite a lot of room on the BD50 it will be released on. I would hope that means the Dolby Digital Plus 640Kbps track that was prepped for the HD DVD release will also be replaced with a TrueHD track but I'll confirm that when I can.

The fact that is was re-encoded only a few weeks ago should be excellent news on the WB front and a sign of good things to come.

If the video was re-encoded a few weeks ago, and there is still no lossless, then I suggest we release Postal-Rob on them.
