Any idea if any of the following Sony titles might arrive sooner rather than later?

City of Lost Children, The
Fisher King, The
Metropolis (2001)
Natural, The
Sense and Sensibility

There's movie which is "very grainy" and I would really like that one. Sooner rather than later.

I just want to throw a congratulations out to George F and his crew over at Warner. I got a look at about 30 minutes of various segments of Gone With the Wind tonight (unfortunately not my own copy) on an ISF calibrated Pioneer Kuro 65" plasma. The warmth and texture of the 3-strip Technicolor is beautifully rendered, and the sets and costumes have never looked this good, even on the theatrical reissue I saw. My hat's off to everyone involved, and I'm drooling to see what your elves are doing with Zhivago and Ben-Hur

Now the rest of you, show you DO give a damn and make sure you grab this for your collection, even if you have to tell yourself it's for the wife

It's one of those film's that you either love, or hate. I fall in the love it category. Is it high cinema? Absolutely not. But whenever I watch it I can't stop smiling and laughing. It is just a fun film that makes you forget about everything that's going on in the world. Which, I think, is exactly what the producers were shooting for in the first place.
I wanna second this emotion.

The movie is horribly corny. But that's why it's so awesome.

It's a shame there isn't gonna be any extras. Can we at least get something?

hi penton,

not sure of the relvance of my post - but i remember a while back a reference to a feature added back to the ps3 to fix an issue with movie playback and that maybe you could offer suggestions to someone at ps3 central? i'm just wondering why sony hasnt added a playlist feature for video to the ps3? Seems like it would be a simple enough feature to add.. but for some reason it seems to have been overlooked..

Cheers,
Mick

Jeff,

Not to nitpick, but did Pioneer make a 65" Kuro? I thought the largest was 60"?

Done.
Although the more modest UK/Euro release (same goes for North by Northwest)

Albintra, only in the rarest of circumstances will I reveal potential street dates of Blu-ray movies……..for a multiplicity of reasons which I have described before in this thread.

Real world repercussions of that -

When home theater enthusiasts are happy, George F. is happy.
When George F. is happy, his 2 basset hounds, Gus and Lola are happy.
When Gus and Lola are happy they sing like this…………
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAAoU_ZGt1Q

When the hounds howl like that, the animal kingdom is in harmony…….
And I am happy.

I'm inclined to agree with this, the PS3 got a really nice photo app (photo gallery) and i think that a Video organiser in the same vain would be great, especially now that the Video store is coming to Europe soon...(This month?)

Might I recommend that Kuro owners would be well advised to view their movies either in a bat cave or with low ambient light because.....

“one problem with KURO plasmas is that they aren’t anywhere as bright as conventional models of plasma TVs. That’s because part of the KURO “secret sauce” lies in the front glass filtering, which attenuates image brightness significantly in the vertical viewing axis. Pioneer obsessed with black levels to the extent that it’s easy to forget what other qualities make up a good display. Here’s where I’m going to buck the KURO trend and say that super-low black levels are not a good thing, if it means I’m giving up brightness at the other end — thereby sacrificing dynamic range. This obsession with low black levels has sacrificed too much visual dynamic range to suit my tastes. Add in the temperamental gamma curve performance and you wind up with images that aren’t as brilliant as they should be.”

^ So sayeth this well respected consultant and speaker,
http://www.smpte2009.org/what-will-r...grade-monitors
That being said, for those that are still interested and not already saving up their money for 3D stuff, I know of only one place in the SoCal area that has any Kuro Elites still for sale, that be –http://www.yawaonline.com/store/prod....asp?prodID=62

I don’t know how they define “B stock”, best to call ahead before making the drive.

As long as she doesn't try to act and stays far away from 24, unless she's backing into a propeller blade of some kind (yes I know she's back...again) I have no problems I'd actually pay for a double feature where she and Claire from Heroes are finally eliminated for good

My goodness. Looking at the "name" of that outfit, the font they have chosen, and their *ahem* origional "Logo", I would venture to guess that it would be best to stay away. Just a guess.

Can she be her roommate for an episode first?
