And it will for me too, the second I hear that half of the movie has been devoted to developing the return of Michael Dudikoff's character (even if he doesn't actually come back until the 3rd film), and the other half to the realm of the "inoperative-data pushers"...

If that ends up being the case, not only will I pay to see "Legacy" at the theaters several times over, but I'll also buy it immediately when it comes to home video!

I rewatched the movie last night, and yeah - it lacks the zing and jazz of Legacy. But at the time of release it was actually ahead of its time graphically.

Even well into the 1990's I wasn't seeing PC graphics with the same cartoonish realism of TRON. Me and my friends all agreed we would have LOVED to play arcade games with the realism of Space Paranoids, or even The Last Star Fighter. Both of which are rather dated by today's standards.

In the extras Lisberger noted that they were taking a computer generated world and trying to make people look like they fit in that world. Basically, dumbing down the real world to CGI.

Legacy is taking a 180 degree approach. Now the computer world is up to snuff with the real world. the difference being technologies which don't exist in our analog world.

Finally saw the new trailer with the Potter movie. If the bass in the trailer is going to be like that in the movie then.

I remember reading on the boards here a while back, that it could be likely if "Legacy" turns out to be a substantial success.

Then maybe we should see it more than once in the theaters

If "Legacy" is going to be a hit of sorts, it's not going to be due to my wallet...once is all I'll be seeing it most likely, and at the cheapest possible cost (matinee showing ).

Right now, I think I have a good idea of what to expect, and it's not something that I think is even going to come close to being good enough to warrant me going to the theater twice...

Plus, if "Legacy" turns out to be nothing more than a special effects extravaganza (which it might), I wouldn't bother seeing the 3rd film anyway...

Buzz from the latest press junket is bad news:

By Devin Faraci "Tron: Legacy: So this played last night and the people who saw it were heavily embargoed. But they’re also mostly fanboys and, frankly, easy lays for this movie, so I expected to see lots of folks on Twitter just skirting the embargo. You know how they do: “Can’t say what I saw but it totally derezzed me with awesomeness!” or something. But there was silence. Utter silence. Never a good sign.

I did some asking around and while there are folks who are very positive on the film, most of what I heard back was “Looks great, everything else is terrible.” The script, I have heard, is especially atrocious. And this comes from some folks who I thought would for sure be huge fans of the film no matter what.

The reality is that as long as it looks good it doesn’t matter if the film is good. It’ll make a boatload of cash anyway."

So it's basically the same deal as the first? (no offense to fans, but the original was corny junk anyways)

If critics loooooved Avatar with all it's eye yet crappy storyline/script/acting/etc. (along with most of the brainless people living on this planet), then the new Tron should get some love as well.

Thanks for the info. My gut tells me this is most likely going to be the case. I'm sure I'll see this one, but definitely for as cheap as possible.

Even if they do make a 3rd film, chances are I won't bother with it...

But you're right, it'll probably make a nice profit at the Box Office.

Corny junk or not, the film still sported a very original concept and was beautifully made.

Regardless, I think I'm really going to enjoy the movie. I'm one of the people who loves Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, so I'm expecting myself to have a very similar reaction to this movie. More Tron is always a good thing in my opinion

The only way I'll see a movie anymore. Usually at least three weeks out on a Wednesday around 1 PM. I also take a vacation during the summer months. Most of you would be surprised how much more enjoyable the theater experience is without other people. I'm not usually anti-social, but there is just something about theaters that bring out people's inner jack-a**.

Don't fret the bad signs and bad news. TRON Legacy will be a "sleeper hit". Probably from the cult following running out to watch the movie three times.

That's usually what I do as well, if and when there's something I decide I want to see at the theaters, which over the past decade, is usually about once a year.

Pffft, It's a rarity I don't go to watch a film opening day/weekend, I love getting caught up in the crowd. Especially if it's an awesome film and the audience are loving it. I can't see me going watching Harry Potter a fortnight after it's been released and having as much fun as I did on Friday, I'll be seeing this as soon as possible (Friday 17th preferably)
