Umm I wonder how you could glean that piece of Information, I sure as heck saw TS3 on the Big Screen. The only trailer attached to TS3 that i can remember was "Despicable Me".

Keeping in mind we received DM some 3-4 months after the north American market..

I'll fight those Witch burners yet

Yeah, I'd noticed a bit of the sarcastic humor when I read your response , and I understand why they chose it, it's just that I'd rather the word "Tron" be secondary in the title (e.g. "Legacy of Tron," like you said), because then it would more easily imply that the film is not going to focus so much around the characters of the original film, but more around the new characters in this sequel. If it says "Tron" first and foremost in the title, I want the film to be dominated by the original characters, not by the new characters (like the two on the poster) who I don't really care to follow for 1 1/2 - 2 hours...that's all.

Other than Lisberger directing it himself, I'm cautious as to what we'll get.

Have not seen or even heard of "Social Network" my friend, I'll have to take a look at it and get back to you...

Think the last time he checked, it was the Halo director, who came up with the idea of those face-helmets--
Now that they have a script, it's first-time reluctant debutant Joseph Kosinski, but who's at least still attached to a possible Black Hole reboot.

I bought my ticket today for the movie. I didn't even know they started selling them yet. I went to see Back to the Future, and I saw the sign. I know where I will be after work on Dec. 17.

Oh ok, I was going to say that was quite a while ago when they named Kosinski as the director.

Ok. I got passes for Tron Night at a theater a little over an hour from me. The theater close to me was sold out by the time I got home.

Do you think if I go early enough to the theater close to me, that I will get in by waiting in the standby line? I would much rather go to the theater right near me......

I remember the theater I went to for Avatar Day and my theater wasn't near full capacity/sold out, plenty of seats left, but you never know with this one....

I am going, and i am making my girlfriend come also. Luckily in Missouri the only two theaters showing it were each 15 mins from my apt.

I'm going!! I'll have to get in line right after work, hopefully I don't get horrible seats. I can hardly wait for this (and the actual release of the movie as well). I'm debating on going to the midnight release of the movie. I really want to, but I don't know if my wife wants to see the movie or not and if I should or should not take off work the next day.

Think it might be a little TOO slick for its own good--
Like the original Tron getting the 1982 Pac-man fans too hyped up, and then being Barabbased when it delivered a fairly standard late-70's Disney live-action movie instead.

In this case, looks like Legacy might need a bit more of a sense of humor if it wants to "follow in fans' footsteps":
Goofy Young Jeff Bridges was the soul and energy of the first movie, and if he's
[Show spoiler]the bad guy
in this one, and Flynn Jr. is the new squarejawed Tron, who's left to deliver audience-populist lines like "Oh man, this isn't happening, it only thinks it's happening..."?

It's nice if the neon and Daft Punk can get the New Kids to rent the old one, but I'll put the sequel into perspective if it isn't 100% "the new Avatar".
If it manages 80%-90%, I'll grade it on a curve.

I actually got tickets to go, but then Disneyland scheduled an elecTRONica Meet-Up for the same night. So I'm passing on the 20-minute preview to head to the park. I already bought my ticket for TRON: Legacy for opening weekend, so I'll just wait the two months and see the entire movie. I'll just be bummed if I miss out on any freebies they hand out at TRON Night. I went to the TRON: Legacy IMAX trailer sneak peek (coincidentally at the same theatre where both Kosinski and Lisberger attended and spoke to the audience) and leaving the theatre we got free "FLYNN LIVES" tee shirts.

Well, I can't really explain it...just strikes me as lame, that's all. Still going to see it I'm sure, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that if after one viewing, I never want to bother with it again. From the clips & trailers I've seen, it has "no replay value" written all over it...
