I saw it today and would give it a 4.5/5. I really enjoyed it even though I never saw the first one. I will definitely be getting this on Blu-ray.

saw it, loved it but no 5/5. 4/5 all thanks to the CG Flynn.

Loved the Score. Have to get the soundtrack tomorrow. (Oh what's the difference in the 2 soundtracks I see? There's a regular $13.99 and a $30 one)

The 3-D was really good. From the theater I went to. Out of the 3-D trailers the Transformers trailer was the best. If the movie is going to be like that then I might see that in 3-D

Agreed very much with you on that one.

If there is an e.g of a band with a Dance/electronic history doing successful movie scores, That would be Underworld. I was blown away by their "Sunshine" composition, And I also happened to come across their soundtrack for "Breaking and Entering" in a bargain bin. This was a beautiful soundtrack as well. If Daft Punk didn't secure it, I would have selected Underworld for sure, I trust their ability to create a score to suit the films ambience..

My subjective opinion on DaftPunk's efforts?
I do totally appreciate there are individualistic tastes in sound, but this duo (who I was never a big fan of) managed to expand their sound dynamic somewhat by including a harsh digital edge mixed with their famed techno sound and also incorporate an orchestral sound in there. Albeit with the assistance of two musical directors. I really liked the style of sound they produced. And for me their music popped at the right time..
[Show spoiler] The first grid game with really phat low end gave me goose bumps ^^

and this concludes my speech hahahaha

P.S great first up effort by them I think.

Was waiting all year for this, then was disappointed when I heard about all the script problems the film has. Lowered my expectations, and actually came out quite surprised. I REALLY enjoyed this film. Had a grin on my face nearly the whole time.

Sure, it does have a few story problems (and Sam is a tad on the generic side), but Bridges, Wilde, and the wonderful visuals mixed with the brilliant score made for an extremely enjoyable movie. Perhaps it's just my initial reaction, and it won't stand up as well to repeated viewings, but that's a question for later. As of now, I loved it.

I thought this was very good. I give it 4 out of 5 and rated it an 8 on imdb. Can't wait for the blu-ray.

I saw it on an IMAX-lite screen and although I loved the visuals, I didn't think that the 3D was all that great. The only other movie i've seen in that theater that was 3D was Avatar and I remember it having much more depth. One thing I did notice was that now the glasses are different than they were a year ago. The new pairs felt a lot cheaper so i'm wondering if maybe these new glasses do not create nearly as good of a 3D effect. Do any of you guys know if IMAX has switched glasses or projection systems that would cause less of a 3D effect? And also, if you've seen the movie in 3D what type of screen did you see it on and how was the 3D effect? If RealD3D is better I might see it again on that instead

Why the hell are so many people trashing this movie? And I don't mean disliking it. I mean TRASHING it. It's reception has been worse than The Last Airbender's! What the heck was so terrible in your eyes?

only 2 2 star votes and zero 1 star is hardly trashing a movie.. 2.5 would be half of 5 which would make the movie average, and apparently the majority thinks its better then average.. i dont know whats making you say this

Basically reviewers these days need every little thing explained thoroughly and if elements aren't explained, they don't exist.

The best are the people that say there was no plot or story was too simple.

Basically reviewers aren't ones who are going to know that TRON actually means something.

This one pretty much gets it right.

Probably one of the top three movie experiences I've seen. The brand new IMAX 3D amplified this film with regard to sound, picture and 3D effect. The story does tend to take its time every once and awhile but it makes up for it in the action sequences. The soundtrack alone deserves much praise, I'm moreso a Pendulum and Prodigy fan but Daft Punk smashed the ball out of the park, I instantly bought the CD as soon as I got out at the theater (best tracks at the moment are "Fall", "Arena", and the End Credits).

A strong 4/5 #XPlay

EDIT: The Blu-Ray is going to kick some MAJOR ass.

I too await the Blu Ray release of this film.

Still, having seen it twice, I'm still dissecting the overall story and thematics of the film. I haven't quite pieced it all together but that second viewing did help a lot and some light reading on
[Show spoiler]isomorphism
helped as well....

That aintitcoolnews.com review is the best on the film. Here's another article I found on the film that helped me through some of the things I was struggling within in the film. It's worth the read...http://www.craveonline.com/entertain...llegory-118989

Completely agree with this. It's a poor script with great visuals. Very similar to the original Tron in that aspect. Tron is a film I still like, even after nearly 30 years. That being said, ever since I originally saw the film (1983), subsequent viewings just become more stilted due to the poor script. - The actor and visuals are the only things that save the film.

Tron Legacy will suffer the same fate over time, which is not good since it is a worse movie than the original.

This poll is very encouraging and seems to match up with the 81% positive audience voting on Rotten Tomatoes.

I have been invited to a private IMAX 3D screening this morning (co-worker's sister-in-law works for IMAX) at 10:30am and can't wait.

Clearly, this is going to be a film that's going to be split between the audience and the critics.

It's going to be very interesting to see where this film ends up on the box office front.

Key phrase from the film by Flynn is "Bio-digital jazz"....

...this is why a sequel is almost a must. Quorra is the key. What they do with her is pave the way for the rest of the story.

Here's another post I found on a different forum that tackles the critics and goes hand in hand with the article I linked above....http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38203

It's the very first post in the thread.

Very enjoyable movie 4/5. I didn't enjoy the 3D on this as much as I had hoped.
