The Joseph Kosinski-directed movie, which stars Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, will be digitally remastered to produce a super-sized version for Imax theaters.

"Tron: Legacy" represents the third of a five-picture deal between Imax and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Imax this week said "Spider-Man 4" will screen in its theaters in 2011.

"This is an ideal movie for Imax's immersive format," said Mark Zoradi, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

I love the original and must have seen it hundreds of times. For me it never gets old. When I first saw the trailer I thought it was for a game, lol. Then I saw Bridges and about crapped my pants. Finally the sequal is coming!

Here's hoping this means we will get the first Tron on BD sometime next year.

Man. What sucks about this is that the main IMAX I go to isn't a 3D one. The other one I can go to has an IMAX 3D but it's a Regal Theater. Normal size screen.

I'd MUCH rather see this than Avatar in 3D. I never saw the original (i plan on it at some point), but this movie just gets me pumped. lol

Can somebody tell me about all the "games" that occur? The only one i'm familiar with is that racing one, and i think i heard about this shooting and gladiator type ones.

There were the Light Cycles that most people remember (each cycle left a light trail, and you would try to out-manuver your opponent and get them to crash into the wall or your light trail), then there was the "game" where the combatants would use their discs as weapons (throwing them like weaponized frisbees, bouncing and curving around through the air), and the last one I can recall was a game that had each "program" on a disc of concentric circles, a sort of "scoop" attached to one hand, and a ball that they would bounce off the ceiling and try to hit the disc the opposing player stood on, thereby removing one of the rings of the platform. I know I'm not doing it justice with my explanation, but hopefully you get the gist. This movie was mazing at the time! Can't wait to see this!

I can't wait to see this, sucks it will be an entire year. Oh well, this year went by SUPER fast, so maybe the wait won't be too bad. I'm looking forward to seeing what part Daft Punk will have in the movie and the soundtrack they are working on.
