If I offended you, I apologise.

[There, Doc. I took one for the team of infantile punners. If you can't make jokes about nuclear holocausts, what can you joke about these days? Oh, right. That stuff.]

So you continue to make light of a horrific and tragic event? Wow.

Those were not soldiers that perished.

You can find humor in that?

Humor can be found in anything if you don't allow ridiculous, and mostly American, notions of political correctness worm its way into your brain. Now, whether the comment was actually humorous is another matter...

I like raunchy humor. Politically incorrect humor. The raunchier the better.

I think you are confusing political correctness with human decency.

Thanks, shark, for throwing yourself on my atomic device. I guess we're callous individuals. And yes, punners is the word, in the sense that (for me, at least) any humor value was found only in the semantic choice of words and the exploitation of language for its own sake.

In other words, Squid, I'm an equal-opportunity punner- the conversational topic of the moment is entirely beside the point of my "humor" and merely caught in the crossfire (to continue the thoughtlessly violent imagery). So, if I offended, I too apologize, but let me assure you that the victims of the Nagasaki and Hiroshima blasts, while not in my reverential deference here, were at least certainly no less so than any other subject which might have happened to have moved James Cameron to rights-acquisition. Had we been discussing fictional blue alien forest-dwellers, for example, and there was an opening... I would have heartlessly punned at their expense, as well.

I think you are confusing human decency with political correctness. It's all right, lots of people do it, it's so ingrained anymore, and as Doctorossi stated, that was not the impetus for the humour anyway.

Let's just say that my apology to your offense was sincere, but I differ in whether or not you should have asked for one, and leave it at that, k?

And you don't? Heathen.

Actually, it's brutal - I can't spell at the best of times, but it's such a pain... "Colour", "Favour", those are easy... "Accessorise/Accessorize"? Meh.

Here's the nerdiness.

I used to, but tired of the looks. I'm in unsympathetic territory and people have enough better reasons to think I'm a twit.

Really, Squid, one might consider it insensitive of you to use a term like "mindblowing" in the middle of this subject, as well. The pun occurred to me in the first place because the graphic nature of your term instantly called an unpleasant image to my mind.

It might have occurred to me to comment upon it in a more serious way, were I not confident, by dint of the intelligence you display, that you had meant no disrespect to innocent life by the word.

The silly walks? The fish slapping?

Speaking of Anglophilia...

Aparently our dear Gunners are playing some, well, Northern team, and those in Blighty will get to see the Sky in 3D (I think that's like the celestial firmament in pop-up-book form, but I skipped that class).

Jeff,
The library also contains ~ 10,000 episodes of television programming too!

No need.
I got it directly from the horse’s mouth (Claudio “I don’t speak Spanish” Miranda) quite a while ago as I attended this………
