What were you riding then, and what do you ride now?

I picked up an Aprilia Tuono last summer, and although I'm happily married, it has become my mistress.

An R1, with extra ponies.

An R1, with more extra ponies.

The Tuonos look like they would be great wheelie machines. The Italians sure make their machines sexy.

Moving on.

Do any of you mastering gurus know how to reconcile this statement (i.e. about the scanning)…
https://forum.blu-ray.com/insider-di...ml#post3352930

with this (i.e. the optical film process)…
https://forum.blu-ray.com/insider-di...ml#post3352206

In other words, if at first glance, the above two posts don’t appear totally contradictory, describe to me precisely the hows and wheres of the vfx element insertion stuff into the optical workflow in order to result in deliverables for a commercial theater having a film projector, D-Cinema and an HD master as a source for a Blu-ray product. Let’s keep it real simple for most new forum members and disregard any ‘IMAX experience’ application.

RAH, you are not allowed to answer unless you have some sort of memento like an old baseball cap (unused) from Seven Arts which you are willing to send me as a gift for agreeing to your bloody truce in the first place. Little did I realize that your postings would spawn surrogate bloggers who would ambiguously expand your HD mastering disappointments into some sort of industry-wide problem when read by casual observers.

I'm honestly quite baffled here.
Good to see you worked motorcycles into the conversation (i.e.baffle). Back in the day I was a SuperTrapp man myself.

I believe it’s a reflection of his *anti-everything digital* thinking, for instance he claims he’ll retire if he’s “forced” by a Producer or studio to use a full blown digital intermediate process in post for conforming and color correcting a motion picture of which he’s shot.

Anyway, he’s not against Blu-ray per se, he apparently views the progressive evolution of improved packaged home media entertainment (in regards to motion pictures) as quite humorous and speaks of such in a condescending fashion.

I almost think he would rather have everyone go out and buy their own 35mm film projector, install it in their homes and rent beat-up release prints from the distributors if people are unable or lack the desire to go to their local Multiplex to watch a motion picture.

b.t.w., you’re not allowed to answer the above question either because I think you’re too knowledgeable.

P-Man, my Inception curiosity now revolves around the question of whether the entire FX pipeline for the 65mm footage or just the scan was performed at 6k. I'll keep watching the D-Neg site. Hopefully, I won't have to wait for Cinefex.

Interesting you should mention that. I'm a CPA in real life, so I've run the numbers on this. I'm pretty sure the Tuono costs 50 cents per wheelie.

1000cc engine + no weight over the front end = thousands of wheelies

Well, we can’t beat ‘em (England) on talent alone because we don’t have enough talent to win on talent alone. Our only hope is that we have the fitness and Eye of the Tiger to run ‘em into the ground!

Like a certain over-achieving team representing the U.S.A. did on ice back in the day…

Is the U.S.A.’s men’s World Cup soccer team’s fitness training worthy of such ^ an accomplishment? I don’t know but, we’ll soon find out come Saturday, if they’re Americans or American’ts…probably within the first 20 min. or so.

Flash forward 30 years later with the current recession and being held hostage these days by a GUSHER in the Gulf of Mexico, this country could certainly use another defining moment in sports history

For those soccer videophiles who can’t make it to South Africa and don’t yet own a 3D TV but are heading to CEA Line Shows in New York in a couple weeks, here’s a soccer heads-up to the extra-dimensional action – http://news.sel.sony.com/en/press_ro...ase/57656.html

While I found it good to give some additional attention to the affected titles I was a bit surprised that there was no mentioning of the studios that are doing a great job most or even all of the time. Neither for Sony nor for Fox can I remember to have seen a bad catalog release during the last year and to me the editorial wrongly gives the impression that bad catalog titles are a problem of all studios when it mainly is a problem with only two of the big studios the way it is now..

No, no, It's now the "Gulf of America" - As per Colbert, "You broke it, you bought it."

As for the upcoming match, I live in "Greektown" in Toronto, one of the largest populations outside of that country, and I assure you that their 2006 Euro win was by far a bigger miracle

I wasn't here for the final, alas (was in a mall in Seattle, forced to go to an Apple store to check the score surrounded by people that didn't give a $hit... see Onion article above). However, the real "win" was when they beat France in the Quarters. I've often described it to my friends as if we beat the Yankees - and I don't mean the Jays, I mean me, you, a couple of my friends...

I think USA will lose to England, but it'll be closer than people will have expected, and I actually think they're going to go far. If Holland can get their stuff together it'll make for exciting footy, but as long as the vag from Portugal doesn't loft a cup I'll frankly be happy. There's half naked ads of him on the Hudson's Bay downtown pimping for Armani, and his lispy ads for Castrol Oil are annoying. Even as a Gunner Messi's less annoying than that weepy bastard.

Brazil? Argentina? Spain? So many teams could really win it this year (forgetting Germany/Italy/France, despite being recent past winners). Should be a hell of a few weeks.

Mind you, I'm not holding my breath waiting for us to win on Saturday, just hoping.

Is there anything you can share about the poor reception of the video quality of the Wild Things: Foursome release? Were they source related or a combination of that and other issues transferring it to BD?

Also, any updates you can provide about the possibility that the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon re-release will include the theatrical subtitles?
