Sony has a ton of MOD titles. You can view all of them at the Warner Archive website. Sony entered into an agreement with Warner whereby they are sold on Warner's site along with all the Warner titles.
The Sony titles all have blue borders, and, of course, are pretty much all Columbia films.
MGM's MOD titles are on SAE and amazon, while Universal's are on amazon, and maybe somewhere else. not sure.

Okay, then I guess I'd just never noticed them before Arkadin. Were they always called the "Sony Choice Collection"?

Guess that also tells you how little interest I have in MOD DVD-Rs. I own a half dozen or so, and end up buying a couple of titles each year which I think have zip, zero, zilch chance of a regular DVD or Blu-ray release. Even when these things play okay, I've yet to be thrilled by a single one in terms of quality. They're a necessary evil, I suppose, but for an extra $10 to $15 bucks, I'd rather see a limited run, properly mastered Blu-ray.

I own a bunch of the Warner MOD dvd-r's because they're what's available.
Do I wish they were regular pressed dvds? absolutely. But it is what it is.
Warner offers 5 for $50 at regular intervals during the year and that's when I make my purchases. I have not paid over $10 for any of the titles I own. I love all the Bogart, Peck, Robinson, Cagney, and Fritz Lang titles plus the unreleased Elizabeth Taylor titles.
Overall, it's a great program for people like me that love the 30's, 40's and 50's more than any other cinematic time period.

By the way, if anyone would like to see Kim Novak in person, she will be at the TCM Film Festival in Hollywood in April. She will be at the screening of Vertigo.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but if you order TT titles or others directly from the Screen Archives Entertainment site and order over $50, you can get $10 off by using the code "AMAZON".

Does anyone happen to know if that code is valid only once, or can you use it more times if you buy more stuff?

One time only per account, it seems.

That's right.

I just preordered Bell, Book and Candle and Desiree, and during checkout while paying via Paypal there was a glitch and the payment wasn't processed. But because I'd entered the AMAZON code (which worked), when I went through checkout a second time and successfully made the order again through paypal, the AMAZON code wasn't allowed this time as my account was marked as having used it already.

So it's a once-only deal, and be careful of that paypal glitch

SAE's order page can be prone to glitches. Today when I was checking out using a credit card with Bell, Book, and Candle and Desiree in my cart, and everything correct on the order page, the page changed over as if going to the confirmation page, but it took me right back to the order page. No error message, no indication of what happened.

I re-checked all my info, changed nothing, and hit the confirm order button again. This time it goes through. I went to the order history page to make sure I had not submitted two orders, and saw all was good. Looking forward to getting both of these films.

Awesome! Thanks for the post - it worked! Glad I read further to see others that found the code only works once per user. I was going to break my order up into two - I'll save more in shipping with one large order...

That promo code never worked for me up here in Canuckland SpartanIre. I think it might be a U.S.-only perq.

For International buyers, the big advantage of multiple combined purchases from SAE is it dilutes the per unit shipping cost, plus pretty much guarantees a nicely padded box. To date, I haven't had one shipment damaged-in-transit-by-dogsled.
