As noted several times on the board for The Blue Lagoon, this was a 'coming of age' movie for a lot of folks now in their 40s Drudge. I wasn't sure how deeply that nostalgia ran, but let's just say I'm not surprised to see such a strong initial response to this Blu-ray.

Thank you for the suggestion Rock. I sent them an e-mail requesting such an amendment. Were you required to place a separate order or did they adjust it on their own (I asked them that too - figured I would hear from you sooner). The choice was easy, The Kremlin Letter DVD. This will be the first DVD I have purchased in quite some time...

I recall receiving only an e-mail acknowledging my request, saying they'd add it to the order. Since the credit card charge wasn't finalized until right before shipping, they simply bumped up the amount to the revised total. I didn't even see the final charge until I received my Visa statement, but it was correct to the penny.

I don't know how it would work with PayPal. You'd likely have to submit a separate payment for the difference.

The "Heaven's Gate of musicals" [sic] honour is probably still held by Darling Lili. Then again, I haven't seen Lost Horizon '73 yet, only clips.
Having seen both Lili and Horizon, I can say that Horizon is the more tuneful of two evils. And then mostly for the non-singing cast. (At least Horizon has original songs.)
But then again, "Star!" may have singlehandedly done more damage than Lili could ever inflict.

I used to love those cheeky Mad parodies EricJ. Everything was fair game.

I briefly considered including Star, but at least that picture came close to breaking even at the B.O., whereas Darling Lili was a massive flop...like Heaven's Gate, deep red.

If it's any consolation, the number one, dream release on my Blu-ray wish list is XANADU.

I could see Xanadu on the Twillight release target, would be a perfect fit. It's also one I like (had a huge crush on Olivia since 1978 and the crush is still going on )

Think it brings the Twilight/Olive "Micro-label" into the mainstream for Blu--

Up to now, the MOD Archive system was only used as an "apology" for DVD, where a studio could release something for collectors and no one would notice, but at least, if any fan nagged them, they couldn't say they didn't release it.
But with Blu, the micro-labels are coming to grips with the fact that some collectors actually want these movies, even if they can't be sold at Best Buy.
Universal and Sony will still probably be third-party licensing them out, until they realize they're not making as much money directly, and may try spinning off some collectors' label where they get the final sale themselves.

Olive is distributing Paramount controlled releases, including the Republic catalog.

So far, Universal's been using Shout Factory for the B-horror.

Universal REALLY needs a partner for it's catalogue. They have a HUGE catalogue but it's barely trickling out.

Take something like the aforementioned XANADU. Universal has seen fit to release it twice on DVD. It was remastered for the second DVD release but never made it to BD.

I'm sure that if they had a partner like Twilight Time, something like that would be on Blu-ray. Either that or they should take an existing partner like Shout Factory and open up the tap some to get the catalogue flowing.

Screen Archives have just released the Condorman-soundtrack cd. (Henry Mancini score) It would be awesome to revisit this film on blu-ray.

Another Disney film I'd like to see on blu-ray is The Black Hole. (with John Barry score)

XANADU... like SATURN 3, what is it about this/these movie(s) that attract me and others to them in an unhealthy way?

Okay, why won't the youtube window pop up? I've done this before (you have to delete the "http://" before "youtube" in the [url="http://"] part), but for whatever reason the forum HTML is automatically re-adding the "http://" part I delete when editing the post.

As long as the video is hosted on youtube.com, and not one of its overseas subsidiaries, just do the following Monroville:

1. Copy the URL from the YouTube address line.
2. Create a couple of spaces where you want to insert the video, and type in at least one word (or some letters, doesn't matter, it can be anything, it won't be visible anyway).
3. Highlight that text string.
4. Click the link button on the task bar, paste the URL, and click OK.

If done correctly, your preview will show the embed as it will appear in your post...at least that's what has worked for me. The trick seems to be having that text to highlight before adding your link...otherwise the URL alone will not embed the player controls.

Default Lost Horizon (1973)

A movie that didn't do too well upon release but has picked up steam over the years. I had just last week purchased the standard dvd and today I get an e-mail from Twilight saying that they will be releasing Lost Horizon on 12/11. I put the dvd up for sale on Amazon and pre-ordered the BD. Being a big Bacharach/David fan, one thing I'm looking forward to is the loss less isolated film score amongst the extras. http://www.screenarchives.com/title_...973-PRE-ORDER/

Twilight Time announced LOST HORIZON on Blu-ray in early August. We've been talking about it here for over three months.

Canada Okay, I'm stumped...

...most months I can find the original still or art that inspired TT's covers/inserts, but this month I'm drawing a blank over the ink drop booklet image for Beloved Infidel. Since this was obviously a 'posed' production still, I didn't think it would be that hard to find, but so far, nada from Google images.

Anyone recognize it?

Oh they are so lovely to look at...like a pretty colorful car wreck. You are drawn in to the beauty of the sets, the sound, the music....it's almost hypnotic....

YES..I would buy XANADU and SATURN 3 on BluRay in a heartbeat.
