It was discussed a few pages back. Apparently TT is not sending screener copies in advance to blu-ray.com anymore for whatever reason, some beef they have with the reviewers. So any reviews will be after the title has already been released.

I an trying to get my head around how this TT licencing system works. If they obtain rights to release a film on Blu-Ray - say Rollerball - does it mean that no one else will ever get the licence to relase it on Region A? Supposing that they put out their usual 3000 copies and those get sold out quickly, is that it? I understand that once they sell their 3000 copies TT usually do not renew the title. Does that mean someone else can then bid for the rights to release it on BD? And what about Region B & C?

2. once they're out they're out. even if they DID want to renew it , they wouldn't because it would devalue the "limited edition" status of their titles 3. B and C are completely separate. Europe has released some of the TT titles that are still locked over here 4. No one can bid for the rights. TT has EXCLUSIVE for 3 years. |

Well it makes sense when you consider that is kind of what they have done from the beginning, going with a store no one has heard of. Screen Archives? A 2 man operation that specialize in soundtracks. To this day we still get people coming in this forum asking where they can buy this. EVENTUALLY getting them on Amazon is good though and TCM Shop was a good move.

Clues or no clues, here are three titles that I can see coming from Twilight Time based on who they do business with and the big name composers attached for the isolated scores: Krull (James Horner), The Missouri Breaks (John Williams), and Obsession (Bernard Herrmann).

That was bad enough to get me to stop visiting (along with the realization that the moderators were suddenly watching Blu-rays through Studio issued rose colored glasses) Last edited by Musicguy; 11-01-2013 at 04:28 PM. |

It is my understanding that TT has a 3 year window of exclusivity (in region A). After that, rights go back to the studio. There are people who have said that TT intends to reup for another 3000 for their sell out titles, but that is, at this point, internet hearsay. |
