You would think SAE could see this happening too. I hope they're prepared. It seems like they have an awful lot going on that's being triggered at the same time (Journey and Big Heat going on sale, 100 autographed Journey blurays, the free DVD with an $85 purchase... did I miss anything?). For anybody ordering in those first few hours, you might want to lay off of the caffeine or risk a mental "server crash" of your own. Yikes!

I'm feeling like one of those people I see on TV that stand in line overnight at the stores waiting for the doors to open on Black Friday.

I would really like to get one signed by Pat Boone. Maybe I need to get two copies... one with the signature (to keep), one without (for viewing). Journey is going to sell out before release day.

Well this is pretty disingenuous:

This is a first-anniversary thank-you to everyone who has supported us and made our start-up year the memorable adventure it has become....

I've bought every single Twilight Time Blu-ray release and even when I order THE BIG HEAT and JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, I still won't make up the $85 necessary for a free dvd.

So this is NOT a thank-you to their supporters, this is a F***-you and a ploy simply to stimulate demand. This is not the first time they've done this and if they keep up the false sincerity, then I for one will start getting a little more judicious about what I order. Fine enough to give away freebies but don't start telling me you're doing us a favour.

I dont like that they are going live at 1pm, where a lot of people are working and may not even have access to a PC + the server issue. No fun
A lot of die hards of Journey are going to miss out on the Pat Boone autographed copy which is a shame

Sorry if I missed it in this thread, but...what's the pre-order date for As Good As It Gets? Has it been announced yet?

BTW, I just saw AGAIG again on cable last night (hadn't watched it in a few years), and it definitely holds up well. Dying to get this on blu!

It won't be until next month.

I'm not interested in a free DVD. I would have preferred if they offered free shipping.

I was thinking the same thing. Kind of lame IMO. I guess its better then last time when they announced signed copies of Fright Night after everyone already got their copies. They should offer the signed copies for anything but this 'who can hit the site the fastest and hit add to cart and buy without getting a 'Page cannot be displayed''. Sounds like a possible exercise in frustration. I don't know maybe provide offers to customers that buy the most or support them the most or maybe a contest or sweepstake.

Oh well I don't really care that much about a signature. I just hope to get a preorder in before its sold out.

The promotions actually sound very cool for the signed blu ray and the free DVD. I'm only in it for The Big Heat, and I'm not loking to deal with potential server crashes, so I'll wait about a week before I put in my pre-order.

I was debating Journey to the Center of the Earth, but now that I know that I have the opportunity at signed Pat Boone copy, I'll be there hoping I'm quick enough (and not busy at work, of course)!

Other than that, bring on As Good as It Gets!!!

The 100 autographed copies will, sure. The rest will be available for months afterwards, just like every single other TT release so far except Fright Night. The Egyptian was released nine months ago, and hasn't sold out.

If I had to pick among their DVDs, I can see a few that interest me - Violent Saturday and The Kremlin Letter are two. I have never seen either. I think these were not remastered by Fox, which is why they are DVD only.

Has anyone ever seen these two films and can comment on them?

Those are my choices too oildude, especially the former. I thought I read somewhere that the reason TT went DVD only with these titles was because they're letterboxed transfers, not anamorphic. Fortunately, they quickly recognized the dead end of that non-selling point...as well as the DVD format...which might be why they're clearing out legacy stock this way.

The other title that kinda sorta interests me is My Cousin Rachel. I'm wary of Woman Obsessed though...according to some sources, it's a DVD-R. Anyone know for sure?

I'm pretty sure it's when you place the order.

Rawdon, this is what they have under every pre-order, so if I'm reading this correctly they just do a temp charge to make sure your card is good and you're not billed until order is shipped.

Quote:
4. Payment details. Credit cards are pre-authorized but not captured until we ship the order. Check or PayPal payments are required at time of order.
