I'm not serving although I have been considering enlisting in the Army before I hit the age cut off. We're in the northern region of NY, the kid's mom is stationed in Germany where she's been since early 2010. She's finally coming back to the states and will be working at Fort Lewis.

Making a couple calls. So my home had some power issues on Thursday night and well into Friday. The town I live in has our own electric department (I absolutely hate it) instead of the majority of Ohio that uses a major company. So on Friday I called the electric department, only to get a message to call another number. So I then called the 2nd number, to get another message as no one was in the office (stupid Good Friday). That message said, if emergency, to call the local police station.

Well, despite the fact that half of my house had no power, I didn't deem it as an "emergency". To me, emergency means there's a threat of danger of some sort - and this didn't qualify. So I called a local electrician, who repaired the issue (outside connections that the electric dept. should have repaired). Fortunately the guy was cool and only charged $75 to fix it. But he and I both agreed this is something they should have done and maybe they can reimburse me.

So I've called them today and explained everything and they're saying why didn't you call police as anytime you don't have electric it's an emergency? They claim to have guys on staff at all times. Well, why not make it accessible then, I already called two numbers?

I still refuse to believe it's an emergency.. because it's not.

Guess I'll send the mayor an email

Well that sucks Biz. Are you on a well or city water? Hopefully the latter. Sitting here chilling for the moment. Just finished eating a hot dog and chips. I'm really hoping I can sleep in a bit more tomorrow. Spent the day doing laundry and then packing up some more totes. 12 totes away from wrapping up my second row. I packed up 6 today despite hitting a road block thanks to one of my waves being MIA and starting so late. Now it is time to finish this coke, brush my teeth and go to sleep. Another busy day tomorrow.

City water. My utility bill that I pay my city is electric/water/sewage. And it’s not cheap.

At the hospital for my son’s scheduled surgery to free up his tongue so he can talk. Stupid hospital has a one parent at a time rule. So stupid.

we're on city as well. BUT...we have to pay a portion of a sewer bill since they built this big, fancy new water treatment plant, but couldn't use it because all of the tanks had problems and they all leaked. so how do they justify recouping the cost? by charging people, WHO WERE NEVER EVEN GOING TO BE ON THAT SYSTEM, an extra charge each month to help pay it off.

second, yeah..that's a dumb-ass rule. there's no way they'd keep me from seeing my son/daughter (if i had kids) when i wanted to see them. to be completely honest, i'd tell them to go ahead and call security because there will definitely be some problems if they tried.

i'd look them straight in the eye and say, "try and stop me. please. i dare you." no hospital rule is gonna keep me from seeing my family.

Eating my lunch and researching OBD codes. I knew buying this jeep would come back & bite me in the a$$ somehow. Luckily under the state's lemon law the dealership HAS to fix it but still it's a huge inconvenience having to bring it into the shop this soon after purchase..especially since this is will be the 2nd service trip in less than 2weeks!

It is definitely going to be a eye opening experience once we get on city water in our new home, that's for sure. Our current city has a nice scam going on where they charge us for a water system we don't utilize. The Mrs is trying to get that settled before we move. I don't mean to pry, but is your son tongue tied? My son had that surgery when he was about two and then again this past year when he had his tonsils and adenoids taken out. He's currently working with a occupational therapist to teach him to breath through his nose more than his mouth.

My wife handles that though. Since it ties into his teeth. That sucks about the 1 parent rule. Something that has always frustrated me is when they don't allow you to be there when they come out of anesthesia. Both times he's freaked the **** out because neither of us were there. It didn't help that we had a very opinionated receptionist while we were waiting this last time. I love when people use their experiences to passive aggressively reflect how we should be raising our son (Just one reason why I don't talk to my parents). Luckily the rest of the staff made up for it. Although him freaking out didn't help matters.
