Just finished assembling a couple of media towers I bought for my DVDs. They're a little shorter than I thought, but that's my fault for being more concerned with the width of both towers to ensure they'd fit where I put them. Now I have two shelves free on one of my Blu-ray racks. You know what that means!

I actually have no idea what that means. Made more room for BDs myself today, this is a tiny room so hopefully it'll be enough till I move out. Really don't want to resort to sticking anything I regularly use in the attic, if only because pulling the ladder up and down is a bit of a pain.

been reading and watching videos about uber stories where the passengers tried to scam the drivers and all the headaches involved with it.

i couldn't be an uber driver (or lyft or anything else similar) and deal with that nonsense. plus i don't let strangers in my truck.

This past Monday the wife and I had to cab it from my sister's place where we had a bbq. The driver had already asked my wife where we were from before I had made my way around to the other door. After we left, he drove past the main avenue that would've taken us to the front door of the hotel we were staying at. I said "Hey man, you missed the turn." "No, it's okay." He then drove past another main avenue that would've easily made up for the missed turn. I then said "Where the f**K are you going?" He said "To the other Hotel *****." I said "There is no other Hotel f**K**G *****!!"
He said he made a mistake and would discount us the difference. I said no, you didn't make a mistake, you're intentionally trying to steal from me you lowlife. I was freaking and f-bombing because I was pretty angry. I said I ain't paying a f**k**g dime.
The cab ride took about 3X as long to get to the hotel and when he got out to get a framed picture from the trunk, I was pretty tempted. He saw that and kept his distance.
I like to tip well when I get great service wether it's a cab, pub or restaurant. I wish that thief would've tried to do a good job and gotten a good tip, rather than try to steal from me.
It's sad to think of how many people from out of town have been stolen from by people like that.

I used to drive a cab in a smaller city, and the owner always insisted on us taking longer routes when we picked up our fares. I lived in said city all my life and knew the short cuts and was raised not to rip people off like that. I had a couple fares that when I took a turn they didn't recognize, would question, I'd just say "it's a shorter route to save YOU money" - needless to say they freaked out much like you did, declaring they take the route daily and knew the distance, so at the end of the ride I read off my trip meter to them and I always got greeted by "Wow you shaved xx miles off our trip, thank you!!" Moral of the story - Don't always judge the cab driver (however in your case Scarriere it sounds like your driver was intentionally ripping you off). I didn't ordinarily receive tips on that job (never could figure out why cab drivers weren't tipped for doing you a service) but that one fare I did. Needless to say, I no longer drive for that cab company (nor do I know if it still exists to this day) for "not following company policies." I've thought about becoming a Uber driver but I've got way too much on my plate these days adding another job even one on the side like that, would be ludicrous.
