This set was the first vinyl record I ever purchased, and might I add, may still be my favorite!

I commented on your avatar as I have never actually seen that photo before. I really like it.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I have only been collecting vinyl for about 4ish years now, and my first few years I purchased way more than I probably should have... but I was playing catch up.

Great collection as well! I was looking through your home theater gallery, and you do have a lot of records! Now you just gotta get something to spin them on.

I do! There are quite a few reasons, but mainly the first is sound. On my system they sound much better, and much more natural than their digital counterparts. I also am a collector, I appreciate physical media. I have never really enjoyed having a computer based or digital music collection. I still to this day have never owned an iPod.

I also really enjoy supporting many of the local wonderful record stores here in Madison. To my fiancee and I, it is a very enjoyable hobby. We often go 'record hunting' around town just to see what cool albums and things we can find. Great way to kill a Saturday afternoon.

that sounds wonderful. i also liked to lower the needle ( of vinyl player ) to the record and sit down. i also have (a modest) collection of singles. me and my friends liked to put one on and change to another and another ... since the singel were "hit" songs they were/are all great. songs from elvis, beatles, rolling stones, etc etc ... i herited the collection form my father.

i have never had ipod either, its not that common here in Finland, but I also prefer going into record shop for browsing....

right now:

watching college football.

just got done watching about 7 episodes of Modern Family (season 2)

waiting for the Fed Ex guy to arrive and drop off my new wireless printer / scanner / copier so i can putz with that for a few hours (what an incredibly fun life i lead, i know, you're all jealous )

later tonight:

finishing up Modern Family (season 2)

maybe starting Dollhouse (season 1) or Parks and Recreation (season 2)

going to bed early to get read for football tomorrow!

Funny you should mention that...... I do the complete opposite (although the kids wake me up anyway)

I try to stay up even later than normal (I'm a late night kinda guy) so when I wake up, it's less time to kick-off

I usually try to do some big task on Sunday morning, so I can not only pass the time before kickoff.... but gain a little bit of forgiveness from the wife for sitting around yelling at the T.V. all day

That's actually a good idea. Nothing worse than getting up early on a football Sunday - nothing else is on to help pass the time, and the pre-game garbage makes time go so freaking slow. It's unbelievable.

However, I go to bed early because I like getting like 12 hours of sleep and usually weekends are the only time I get to do that
