On hold with Paypal. I just opened a checking account at Chase and now I'm working on getting the account linked to my Paypal account.
Got a call and a text from my buddy while I was opening the checking account. I didn't take the call but I texted him back. Later on while I was walking from Chase to Target, I saw him in the parking lot so shot the shit with him a bit. He seemed a bit tipsy so I didn't hang out for too long lol

Going to order some shipping supplies from USPS while I continue to wait on hold.

this one was so simple. after taking out the top bolt on the bracket holding the alternator, and after loosening the bottom bolt by half a turn, the part dropped down and i was able to slide the belt off. it's a serpentine belt so it stayed in place and all i had to do was slip it back on the new part once i got the bottom bolt it.

seriously, so damn simple to do. the last time i replaced an alternator it was on a car that had 3 different belts (1 for the alternator, 1 for the fan, and 1 for the water pump). of course that was on an old chevy and things have changed quite a bit since the 70s, lol. plus you had to take out a bunch of things before you could even start to take off the alternator. but on my mom's car? remove one small bracket (not necessary, but it makes it a bit easier when putting the new one on) and the radiator overflow tank, but it's just held on with one small screw and then it slides off of its bracket and just sits out of the way. after that, remove the plug (just pull), the grounding wire (small nut), and the 2 bolts holding it to the block and it's off.

I would be VERY leery of this. I had my checking account linked to my PP account and it was compromised a year or so ago when someone tried to steal $500 from me. Luckily, all of my notifications were on and I caught it, but it was scary enough for me to remove my checking account from my PP account.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm actually just using this account for PayPal so I won't ever have too much money in it for too long. Doesn't mean something can't still happen but I think I'll be ok. I've had other accounts linked to PayPal before and everything was always ok.

Taking my first break of the work day. Spent about 20 minutes earlier trying to get the wheels moving on all the letters of recommendation I need to get into the NMSU BSW program. Will just hand the one to my supervisor when I see him again. Not sure why he's being so touchy about letting me go to campus on Friday. I'm still going to get my 40 hours, other people will be here in my work area and also other people seem to take off all the time. I never take off so it's a bit rude but oh well. We'll see, I guess.

i've worked at places like that. if you weren't part of the little clique, then you didn't get anything. while others, who were in that group, could do no wrong and got everything handed to them. i swear, sometimes work is as bad as, if not worse than, high school.

Yeah it's just really annoying when I'm a much better employee than probably anyone else in this department. There's also the fact that they claim they're happy I want to go back to school. Prove it, talk is cheap.
