I'm ready for an ice cold beer!

Looks like I'll be sending the kid to live with her mom full-time at the end of June, and get her 2 weeks every summer. Guess it's better than nothing, kind of peeved that the last 10 yrs I raised her wasn't enough to win a custody battle over her mother. I still don't know how the system works, and how I managed to become her legal guardian all these years while her mom was on active duty in the first place.

Oh and to add more bad news, my fiancee got her 3rd speeding ticket in less than 6 months. This time she was clocked at 60mph in a 20mph SCHOOL ZONE. My initial response to her was "WTF were you thinking?" I'm pretty sure her license will be suspended now, and she's got a 50 mile one way commute to work, not sure what she plans to do about that but I've already suggested finding a cheap apartment or even a motel in the city so she can take public transportation or walk to/from work for awhile.

Brother...I just got through a two year stint of on and off work after being laid off Christmas 2015.

If you need to talk or if there is anything I can do. If you need a reference or a resume worked up.

There isn't much I can do across the country but hang in there man. You are not alone.

sux about the kid, Mike. and that 2 weeks every summer? while it is better than nothing, it's not much better. but i guess you take what you can get. hopefully you two don't grow apart by not seeing each other for long stretches of time between visits.

and WOW! at that speeding ticket. 50 in a 20 school zone, huh? that's gonna be an expensive ticket (ask me how i know, lol). i don't know about where you live, but here they usually double the fine if it's in a school zone (especially during school hours).

i'm trying. and i hope they do. it's never taken me this long to find another job. but i guess when you get close to 50, people don't wanna hire you for anything other then "welcome to wal-mart"-type jobs. which i REFUSE to do. not that it's beneath me; but i still have quite a few good years left in me, dammit.

'preciate it, very much. and my resume stays updated on a regular basis. the bad part about it is the 2 year gap between my last job and the one i had before that. it was during the time my dad died and i was just not in a good place.
