Just finished dinner of pizza, and watching some TV. I'm currently waiting for the kid to get her shoes on so we can go for a evening stroll around the neighborhood now that it's finally cooling down a bit...then probably straight to bed since the Lady and I have to work tomorrow.

Sitting here drinking a Corona Familiar and wondering if NE Texas has any good beer outside of liquor stores 😒 Midelo Negra is the only thing I’ve had that doesn’t taste like overpriced piss 😕 Anyone around here have any suggestions before I go on a booze run to Dallas and put out a ad for a blocker. I hear Bandit has retired 😞

The husband and son-in-law are digging up the sewer line in the back. The previous owners of the house had laid broken pieces of cement slab to use as stepping stones. The weight caused some plumbing problems when the ground sank down.

So we rented an excavator, got the slabs up and hauled off. We're now digging down to the line. Near the septic, they had thrown in broken pieces of marble slabs. Nice thick pieces, too. To me that's like throwing money away.

I'm taking the bigger pieces and using them.

Just got out of work, going to check on my folks on this very HOT day on my way home. Hopefully it's only a short visit but knowing my ma she'll probably insist on feeding me. The girls are up at the water park/resort for the week as they're both on vacation, so I guess I don't have to be in a hurry to get home...

got my sister's christmas present about 90% done. just need to get the vinyl letters cut to put on there then cover the whole thing with clear-coat.

Completely forgot to start marathoning my 4k discs, I'll do that next Saturday.

i'll be eating dinner, as well, in a bit.

i'd water my plants/flowers, too, but i did that yesterday.....then it rained. so they'll be good for a couple days or so.

It doesn't rain enough here to effect the watering schedule most times. Watering 4 days a week seems a bit excessive but it is brutally hot and dry here.

there have been plenty of summers here where we watered every single day.

we have some potted plants and some in-ground plants that i usually water a couple times a week if it hasn't rained in a while. but during the summer, if it's really hot, i'll water them several times a week if i remember.

when my dad was alive, his hobby was flowers and plants and he had hundreds of them in pots. he'd water them every single day in spring, summer, and fall.

I think plants are more work than they're worth but I'm expected to keep them alive so I might as well. Never been a yard work person and I doubt I ever will be. Hopefully my future wife will understand that.

ya know, i never was either. but now that it's mine i like to get out and keep the yard looking nice (or try to, at least). hell, i even have a nice compost pile going on, too.
