Mind you it was just shy of 11pm and about 10miles into the thickness of the woods, there was no way we were going to find our way back to the trail head in the dark so I let the girls sleep while I stayed up on guard duty (I'm certain they were just drunk and wouldn't have done anything but I wasn't going to take any chances). So I've been up since 1am YESTERDAY, even this ultra-caffeinated coffee isn't performing it's best so I think I'm just going to go take a nap now, and unpack the rest of the truck later.

For those of you who made it through this long post and are interested, we've decided that in the future I think we're going to stick with state campgrounds as a family, its a shame because until this last trip I always found primitive camping more peaceful/comforting. Looks like some solo camping trips may be in store for me.

Good on you for watching over your Family. You can never be too diligent when it comes to that.


I just got back from dropping off my truck for service on the a/c. I didn't take the courtesy ride cause I figured it'd be a nice walk for The Mutts, and it was. But I got a call and was distracted and they both hopped into the lake to cool off and have a drink. That is a no-no now. The Gov't released a list of lakes around town that had elevated arsenic levels and people aren't supposed to swim or anything else in them and this lake is on that list. I only quit taking them near that lake a couple of months ago. I've gotta be more careful while near it.

I had to leave my wife this past winter. It was fairly sudden, so I didn't have a lot. She and her Mom helped out with bed and bedding, table and chairs and stuff for the kitchen. It's been a process, but I'm comfortable now.
Women can be nurturing and don't want their men (ex or not) to suffer a whole lot during break ups. That's been my experience.
I'm sure you'll rebound well Donster. You gotta hang in there. Get a good job asap. There's plenty of options for a vehicle in Texas and you can get that once you have the job. I imagine that your wife help get settled in, if separating is inevitable.

Maybe I can con the neighbor boy to do it, I swear he has a crush on my daughter so something tells me he'll be willing to do it for nothing

I had the same lunch Wabo and took that nap for you Scarr Sitting here trying to kick this cold with some alcohol and avoid conversation with The Mrs. Who kind of pissed me off with her, ‘Oh, let me do that too!’ attitude when she heard our lawn guy was coming right around dinner time and hadn’t moved her Mom’s car or swept the carport.

Listen, I’d already moved the Mustang and put the chairs away before I laid down earlier. You are the one who decided to pull them back out So now I’m going to move the cars and try to figure out how to kill some archers in the legendary setting of Ryse before I shelve it and move on.

Sincerely, thank you. I appreciate you guys listening to my ramblings. I don’t have too many friends around here and unlike most, I don’t air my dirty laundry on Facebook. So I kind of vent here. The sad thing is this move should have made things easier. That is the one thing we both agree on.

That, and this no longer feeling like a partnership. Although we have differing views there too. Unfortunately there are more questions than answers at this point. I need to decide how I’m going to pay off some debt and if I’m just walking away with just the clothes on my back or what? Anyway, appreciate the support.

Oh yeah I know it is... The intriguing part was it gave me an idea of what I can do during the week to save some money fuel costs (and lodging) with my newly acquired 2 hour (one way) commute. From my experience, the back seat of our Jeep Renegade is not only big enough but actually pretty comfortable for me to sleep in. Thing is I don't think my employer would support the idea of me living in the parking lot of my work place during the week. And of course there's the thing of not having a shower

o/t: Sitting out on the balcony getting plastered while the kid continues playing Battlefield III inside. Really wish I knew when the Wife was going to get home, I've been marinating a couple steaks for dinner tonight but of course it's too dark to grill them. And the kid hasn't spoken to me all afternoon so I don't know what she wants for dinner, nor do I care at the moment, she's old enough to fend for herself if she's hungry.
