I'm looking for Black Widow news. I'm sure we're about a month....month and a half away from a blu-ray release. Definitely before Halloween.

Getting ready for a Thursday shift at work before another upper body session at the gym and a 3 mile run on a local running trail. The job I interviewed for yesterday was essentially a juvenile detention center guard job, I thought it was case work. Seemed like the interview went well but I'm not interested in being a guard so I pulled my application. A bit disappointing but at least 4 of my other applications to the state of New Mexico are either screened or referred so hopefully there will be more interviews.

I'm liking Ohtani in the leadoff spot now. Teams are still walking him, but there are two pretty good contact hitters behind him every time they do walk him.

He's tailed off from that crazy July hitting streak, but his pitching has become stronger this past month.

I hate black bars. No, I'm not complaining about aspect ratios, I'm complaining about black bars. Like the kind in 4:3 videos that window-box the whole picture when viewed on a widescreen. I finally found a media player that respects the MKV cropping flags (that you can set in MKVToolnix), but the madVR renderer, which I rely on for HDR, doesn't support it. It's broken in madVR, cropping only the bottom black bar. Took me two hours to find out what the issue was and to try and fix it. But it can't be fixed and no one is updating madVR. If there was a way to remove black bars without re-encoding (losing quality), I would do that. But I'm doomed to zoom in manually on these infernal 4:3 widescreen videos forever. I don't like the automatic zoom control options in madVR because they all zoom or pull back in the middle of a video.

Screw it, I just queued a bunch of these SD music videos in Handbrake. Will see tomorrow if H265 with grain tune, a pretty high RF (14) and "slower" decoding kept the quality. Just to get rid of some stupid letterboxes.

It's been a long time since I last visited this site so I decided to log back on yesterday. Today I'm browsing the forum, checking on some of my old posts and messaging some of my old friends/contacts. Feels good to be back. I've been busy focusing on work and I'm in a relationship now (October will mark our 2 year anniversary). I also bought my first property back in May - a 2 bed apartment, which I'm still waiting to get moved into (the process of buying/moving house is incredibly slow)

On a side note, I really need to invest in a 4k player and TV as I still have my Sony Blu-ray player and 40" 1080p Samsung TV which I bought back in the noughties

Once I get moved into my new apartment, I'm going to treat myself to a new smart TV and player. Exciting times ahead

I got up way too early, I guess even at my age just knowing it's my birthday today caused me to get up early...
( I'm a retired disabled Vet, so getting up before 10AM is earlier to me, and I got up at 6AM today

What to do on an early and lazy birthday?
I decided to pop in and watch one of my Anime complete collections today ( at least start it )
Soo I'm watching all of FULL METAL PANIC!

So I'm doing that today with break here and there
