Currently learning about the realism movement in Art History Class in School, while doodling on a piece of loose leaf. Hudson River School sure has some pretty paintings!

Slept in a bit this morning so I'm just now drinking coffee (Black Rifle's Irish Cream) and listening to some tunes via the iheart radio app while figuring out what I'm going to do today.

Oh wow! That area is not far from Jamestown, NY. I've always been fascinated with that upper area of NY since high school. 10,000 Maniacs are from Jamestown, NY and I just find it so fascinating that there is a rich history of all things art (music, movies, and art) in that upper NY area. It just seems so unlikely. It's hard to believe that at one point 10,000 Maniacs supplanted the other big local to become more known. That other local is Lucille Ball. I mean, they aren't as known or more known now. But at one point they were Jamestown's biggest export. I just love how the best art seems to come from these obscure/backwoods places. And not what is deemed the "culture centers". Just goes to show you that LA and NYC are not all they say they are.

Forgive me. I am just waxing philosophically about art while still trying to wrap my head around this newish All Them Witches record. It sounds good and I like them as a group, but I am also feeling headachy listening to it. And it's no fun when your music makes you feel headachy. Oh well, I'll give it more time to soak in. It won't be long in my playlist anyway. The new Sheryl streets Friday and I cannot wait. No vinyl, but that's ok. I love me some Sheryl Crow, so it doesn't matter.

All good. I wouldn't call the Hudson Valley (where I live funny enough) a cultural center at all these days, quite boring actually. I wish I lived further north or in another state, or the city if it was safer. There is good art though, and I come from some good artists. Food is also pretty good in some places. Still, a nice change of where I live would be good

You are right about that. But in its heyday (early 80's to early 90's) there was something going on. Especially in that upper NY area. As for moving somewhere else like a bigger city, you aren't missing much. As long you have a movie theater, a good record store, a nice grocery store, and good restaurants that's all you really need. Trust me, BIG cities are not at all what they are cracked up to be.

I used to live in the northern region of the Hudson Valley, beautiful country I sort of miss it. I always said if I ever move back to NY (actually very likely in ~5yrs) it'll likely be back in the Hudson Valley. I've lived everywhere from Peekskill (northern end of the Hudson Valley) to the foothills of the Adirondacks, even a short stint in western NY (Rochester area).

Just finished cleaning out from under my bed. I found everything under there except for the ark of the covenant.

I have friends in the city, but considering they only are there because of how attached they are from living there for decades, I'll take your word as well

Peekskill I heard has become quite the local tourist attraction these days, and a bit pricey, even for NY. I enjoy the country, but I kinda have desire for me, and a place where I actually do friends off the screen. Oh well, I can wait

Listening to some golden oldies on iHeart Radio, browsing a Ford Truck group/forum/page(whatever they call it) on Facebook and drinking a couple Jack and Cokes. My wife's watching some chick flick on Netflix in the other room, I keep popping in to see if she's hungry yet, as it's getting later and later I don't think we're doing anything for dinner tonight.

I had a flurry of activities over the weekend, now, today I've just been bored all day - and I have zero interest in watching TV.

Listening to All Them Witches again while I surf before bed. I was making a highish-end purchase before heading to bed and before it was gone. So, I thought I would listen to music while making said purchase. Now I've got a little time to spare before this record ends and I head to bed.

A few months back, my friend told me that a mat can be made by old clothes. I was quite amazed when she told me how it could be done. I had spent a lot of money buying a mat and I was looking for a cheaper option. So I tried to make one from old clothes. It worked like magic! My mat looked as good as the ones available in the market. This was also a very good way of upcycling old clothes.

Finished all my work in math class and awaiting the bell to ring to move onto English. Some subtle relaxation in all the chaos

Finished listening to the last Liz Phair record and I am lowkey stressing out about the guitar purchase. Read online that these particular guitars are cheap and horrible. With many being purchased from JCPenny or Sears. That's not what you want to hear as a "musician" when buying a guitar. Man, I hope the guitar is good.

I'm supposed to be cleaning and clearing up my storage space, but I can't get up off my sofa. Plus, I know the minute I go outside, I'll want to do something else, it's too nice of a day to be spent doing such a heavy chore. I still have the rest of the week off, maybe tomorrow.

What's wrong with your feet? I suffer from Restless Leg Syndrome and I have to take medicine for it. Otherwise, I won't get much sleep and would be worse. Maybe the doctor can help. As bad as doctors can be, sometimes they can be saving graces.

Getting ready to turn on some tunes and cook dinner, we don't feel like watching TV right now. My wife just opened a bottle of wine so tonight should be pretty entertaining, she actually quit drinking alcohol 5 years ago, I'm not sure what made her decide to start again.
