Working on that 40 hour RBT training, current plan is to finish it today or tomorrow then go apply for that M-F 7-3 job and keep CK on PRN status. DSP job is decent, more BHS experience before the move can't hurt.

3:21am and sitting in a Denny's just a short ways from work. I took the bus today and I normally get here an hour early before my 4am start time. Got some pancake puppies and a Diet Coke.

I mentioned getting a girl's number on Sunday and we've been texting. Her first language isn't English so I don't know if she's been reading and understanding my texts and then replying in English or having a translator do all of the work. We're planning on going out for the first time tonight but I'm getting cold feet because of my anxiety. Not sure yet if we'll still go or if I'll come up with a reason to back out

Just finished a battery of review quizzes for the RBT exam on the Autism Partnership Foundation Site. Saw the list of tasks I will need to be able to do for the competency assessment so I've started watching YT videos of those as I continue to try to find out how to get someone to assess me and proctor my certification exam.

Drinking some coffee after talking to my ex on the phone. My daughter was hit by a car yesterday while out riding her bike. The driver claimed to not have seen her until it was too late, despite her wearing a bright yellow hi-viz vest and having lights bright enough to likely see from space in the daytime. The kicker here is he stopped to make sure she was OK then drove off, had his wife drive back to file out the accident report. I wasn't there but I'm going to say he was drug/alcohol impaired. The police wrote him an appearance ticket for hit & run, reckless driving, and get this being uninsured. A ridiculous slap on the hand had I ever seen. My daughter is laid up with a broken collarbone, a fractured wrist, and some cuts and bruises.

Please people, slow down and look out for bikes of all kinds. This happened a non-busy residential street, no other cars around - it was easily avoidable.

I never had my first date on Friday so we rescheduled for today after I got off work. I have pretty bad anxiety and I'm quite insecure so it's easy for me to imagine a date, not going badly but just not going well either. So I thought I might have gotten out of today's date so I came up to my usual spot for clam chowder and I was going to eat and then maybe go for a drive.
Well now it's back on. She texted and I told her that since I hadn't heard from her again last night, I wasn't sure she still wanted to go and I just went out. She wasn't upset and I guess it works out for the better for her which I appreciate. I'll leave before too long and go pick her up but not sure what we're going to do yet. It's a nice day so a trip to the beach wouldn't have been bad.

And then there was this woman, probably my age so I'd say mid 40s and she came in with who I'm assuming were her daughters. I was going to say something to her when no one else was around but I never got a chance. It's hard enough for me to talk to a girl or woman (usually) but around other people... They left sooner than I would have thought so I never got my chance but as they were leaving, she gave me a nice smile so I'm thinking I should have said something

I don't spend as much time there as I used to but it is a place I like to hang out at quite a bit. I ended up not buying a magazine on that trip. I normally go for the travel ones first. I had started to read an article on Barry Keoghan on a previous trip but then I thought it might give away a few too many things from Saltburn which I haven't seen yet.

The date was with that girl that I met last Sunday. We just grabbed a bite to eat at the Crepevine in Palo Alto. She doesn't speak any English so all of our convo had to be translated via an app on our phones. While it wasn't convenient, it wasn't that big of a deal. I did order two items for us and then when they came, I let her decide which one she wanted. I had the French toast which was good but the crepes that she had looked amazing.
I think the deal breaker is going to be the age difference though. I thought she could have been mid 20s to early 30s and it turns out she's 20 so I was twice her age 4 years ago

Waiting to have blood work done before I eat breakfast and then finish the 2.5 hour documentary on the making of ballad of songbirds and snakes. Looking forward to today's 11:00 zoom interview before tonight's 5-9 shift. Need to go this afternoon to get some cash, a replacement drivers license, gas and a new wallet.

Yup like the intelligent human being I am, I somehow dropped it between getting out of my car and onto the bus to the El Paso Marathon start line on Sunday. Just finished my Zoom interview with MECA, time to go to Wells Fargo to get cash and then head to the MVD Express to discuss a new drivers license. It actually expires in February 2025 *but* I assume by then I'll be living in Iowa so I have zero intention of adding more years to the replacement. Need to go get that wallet too, hopefully I can find a decent one that doesn't cost too much.

Waiting to get my blood work back too, hopefully my cholesterol has gone down significantly since last January.

Almost forgot today is shave and a haircut day with everything else going on, need to take care of that after lunch before I head to tonight's 5-9 shift and continue to hope a job recruiter calls me soon.
