I just switched to State Farm. My previous insurance doubled from last month to this month (apparently it was changed to a different carrier or whatever insurance brokers do), so I immediately cancelled it and told them to go kick rocks (that is putting it nicely). Now I am paying less than half of what I was for the same coverage. Should have changed to them years ago.

Thinking about renewing my passport to help make it easier to get my California Real ID. My passport expired 2 years ago and while I don't think I'll be using it anytime soon, it wouldn't hurt to make it valid again.

I've got some WWE2K19 playing (computer vs computer) in the background. I'll have some cereal, I think...not that hungry right now. Anyway, and then I'll head out to go see Alien: Romulus at 10:30am. I'm going to take public transportation and the theater is at the mall so I'll probably get there a little early so I can look around a bit.

Just got home from a very long day between being at Honda & dropping off some gear at McIntosh in Binghamton, NY for service.

While at Honda, I raided their Biscoff cookies in the waiting room & Was surprised to see they had a nice s2000 in the showroom. I do not believe it was for sale. I acted like Detective Columbo checking it over and comparing it to mine haha. It had some gaps so most likely a dirty Carfox as I say. You can see one gap between the bumper & left headlight.

Next round of photos I took at Mcintosh headquarters to make Wabo drool.

The warehouse is much larger than pictured. Like multiple football fields. I got Indy vibes.

I thought this photo was funny as it has a huge sticker that says do not stack.

Lastly…a stop in upstate NY would not be complete without some cream puffs- although I call ‘em circular eclairs.

WOW! That is a handsome car, but it is not for me. I'm too tall and lanky for something like that. I need a lot of room. Plus, it looks like it sits low to the ground which I can't stand. If I ever got a car, it would have to be a roomy car i.e. a dad car. Which sucks, but I can't help it.

YOU'RE MAKING ME DROOL. Ever since I sat inside that defunct Hi-Fi store near my house in 2006 listening to Edie Brickell's Volcano album on McIntosh I have always wanted to own one. That and in-wall speakers. It's been a bucket list thing for me. I've got the in-wall speakers and now all I need is a McIntosh system to go with it. But that will not go over well with the big sis. I'm more likely to get that new TV than I am a McIntosh.

My legs always hurt. I suffer from restless leg syndrome and It's awful. It's really impacting the quality of life I have. I need to find a more permanent answer than medicine.

Wishing people would be polite enough not to re-post a half a page of pictures just to add one line of comment.

I'm sitting here waiting on an oil change. Thought about getting a cup of their coffee but decided to wait and hit a Starbucks afterwards.

Did you buy another NSX?

Glad your journey to Binghamton was a success. Always good to see the Mc warehouse workers following instructions. I'd love to tour the Mc HQ. I'd be like a kid in a candy store. But I will need to use your checkbook.

For some reason I want some circular eclairs now. Curse you, sf.

Let’s not use the word “success” just yet. . But yes, it was a nice little trip.

I was told to go to the warehouse but it feels like the Wizard of Oz and the sign on the door said to report to the main building/lobby first so I went back.

A bit of confusion there and they were unaware of a sign lol. They called the receiving person and told me to go back. The lobby is super small but they have demo rooms to your left and right. Blue meters everywhere! I smelled food and the place was super crowded so I’m not sure if employees were having lunch or they were giving some sort of demo to a group. Due to the overcrowding, I did not snap any photos while in the lobby.

A friendly janitor ended up letting me into the warehouse and I waited probably 20 mins to hand off my gear and fill out the paperwork. I chatted with a few workers and they were all very nice and personable. The one guy said it would be a while and I joked maybe I would have it back in time for Christmas and a few people laughed.

Not sure if you’ve heard of “Chuck” but he’s been with the company for decades and is like the Thomas Andrews of McIntosh. I talked to him on the phone a few times and he was just insanely knowledgeable. Anyway….I found out he retired 2 weeks ago!

It is a bit unusual that you cannot purchase gear from them on-site. Maybe for the best as you’re not umm “impulsed” to buy. You have to purchase from a dealer and I heard them mention Audio Classics multiple times which is the closest one from their headquarters. Tours are by appt only. I figure next time I’m up there I’ll try to arrange something.

Back to the drop off…I wasn’t sure what to expect considering this is a premium high end luxury audio brand. I pictured myself being offered free refreshments and escorted into a room where someone would go over things with me along with testing the unit in person. Maybe I’m just used to the Acura NSX treatment. I did not speak to any techs so Nobody said if the unit could be fixed but they also didn’t refuse it. The woman in receiving came into view pushing a wheeled cart which I assumed was for the player. I placed the player onto the cart and she took a few notes and that was it-very informal. They were curious what was in the box and I told them a new transport. I briefly explained the last person I talked to said I needed a new one and they had no replacement parts.

We shall see. I have a ticket number at least and she’s back where she was assembled. Cautiously optimistic at the moment.

But get ready for a big party if they fix it for me.
