2. Your folks’ guess is as good as mine.

Bonus answer: What we see at home is often ahead of and surpasses what we see in theaters, e.g. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post14681910

I only post where I got friends. If they don't let me post on other sites I lost all my friends, which is supremely sad. You got to respect people who have friends. Yo

https://www.ibc.org/production/whats...g/2654.article
Quote:
With increasing demand for tools to craft UHD and HDR images, manufacturers of grading systems are putting colour management and the optimisation of worklflows at the heart of product development.

An area of growing importance is providing a consistent link from the set to finishing, says Lempp. “Colourists can provide input at the beginning of a project so directors and cinematographers can see the grades as they shoot, rather than just imposing a standard LUT; and decisions made on set can be carried through to give the colourist a jump start on the final look.”

DITs and colourists have been doing similar things for a while, the DP will often grade a raw still of a particular scene using something like ColorStream (the whole scene will usually have been shot with the same lighting and T-stop so a still can suffice) and hand it to the techs to do a quick grade on the scene while they're off shooting something else.

4K? We're still locked to 1080i/p on the main terrestrial broadcasting networks, never mind 4K. I know that Sky and BT have UHD platforms but neither of them has the rights to the Olympics to show on their 4K services AFAIK (the Beeb and Eurosport have the rights), and even if they did it'd be SDR anyway.

Perhaps the Beeb's new HLG iplayer could be pressed into action, true enough, but seeing as my old 2016 TV can't be updated for that app I'm up shit creek anyway.

Xfinity is just a brand name for Comcast cable, internet and most of the other home services Comcast offers.

AT&T disclosed yesterday on its DIRECTV subscriber forum that it will offer coverage of the Olympics in 4K, and 4K HDR, from February 8 through February 25. The company said the 4K footage will air on DIRECTV’s live 4K channel, which is 106.
