hah, I’m actually a little embarrassed to admit that I’ve tried (and liked) the Spanish version…..

but best not to have it at the JW so one can concentrate here - https://twitter.com/AJAVideo/status/963095428118949890

Looks tasty. I'm rather fond of it's Emerald Isle counterpart, the Irish Coffee, heavy on the Irish. A few of those and you'll have both HDR+++ and DV+++ put together.
[Show spoiler] BAM!

Watched Shaun White take the gold in snowboarding the other day. Dayum! Even tho it was only 1080p it looked gorgeous on the 4K set. The bright vibrant colors set against the snowy white of the half pipe was crazy good. Must have been some dust in the air I seemed to have gotten a bit choked up when he won. Better get the wife a duster for Valentines Day.

No matter the spatial resolution, let’s hope that we can see some, or at least one, content provider deliver the next Olympics showcased with snowboarders, skaters, skiers doing their thing in even better detail with an HFR (120/100 fps) presentation: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...m#post14556365 -

Tech specs of thee original live stream….

Because the visual value gained with the increased temporal resolution will be around as much as going from SDR -> HDR.
I like the title of this presentation for the upcoming VidTrans18 later this month…..

I have known Penton from the days he was on the board which shall not be named and then when he came here on the insiders thread "Club Penton" which has about 6.5 million views. If asked a direct question he will always answer it truthfully but because he knows "insider" information he can at times be coy.

Anyway on the subject of slide rules - I still have the one I acquired in school. I haven't used it since I got my first calculator Keystone 88 calculator which has a amber gas discharge display. (I still have this calculator!)

Hey, I used a rule back in HS Physics, but have long forgotten how it works.

But those steely-eyed missle men sent all our men to the moon with those sticks, along with a huge dose of conviction.

In the Blu-ray era, first there was Ben….https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...t#post13843411

Then there was David….https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...t#post13853455

And now after < 4 yrs. (http://deadline.com/2014/01/sony-pic...-chief-659231/ ) even Manjit is gone. This business is just not kind to top management in Home Entertainment.

For those who need an escape, like me, from the endless coverage of the latest tragedy in the U.S. (which I hope, but remain as skeptical as I was in 2012 - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ra#post6877131 about the latest mass casualty incident serving as a catalyst to any meaningful nationwide changes, after the initial lip service)…..here’s something more pleasant , especially since what the Year is starting tomorrow.

So, film festival-wise - https://www.berlinale.de/en/im_fokus...tml#item=47186 (as a personal aside, Tuesday night my wife and I were rooting for Bean at the Westminster Dog Show).

For more to come in upcoming days from Germany - https://www.berlinale.de/en/im_fokus...ing/index.html
