Speaking of NAB 2018, is there like a megathread somewhere on this forum?

What shows are on HDR10+ on Amazon Prime Video? I have a 2016 49" UHD HDR set that got several updates last Summer. With those updates my set could display HLG and PQ formats and maybe HDR10+ too. The updates didn't state what they added, it happens that Televisión Española, the Spanish public broadcaster had 3 4K test channels with the same content. One channel was in SDR,a second one on PQ (the one I think looked the best) and a third one on HLG. Maybe HDR10+ was also added.
And maybe the shows available on Amazon on HDR10+ are only for the US and in Spain we're getting plain HDR.

Eddie, I think someone else wrote that Samsung broke their promise to update their 2016 TV's with 10+. If correct, only the 2017 and 2018 models will get updated. Can't remember which thread that was in, could be the HDR10+ thread sometime this year since January.

John Archer got it from Samsung. Hdr10+ was more complicated than Samsung originally thought and looks like they can't do it.

Recap link for brand new readers to the 1,000,000+ thread - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...y#post14827502

P.S.
On a historical note, Penton manufactured off road motorcycles for less time (only 10 years) than did Oppo Digital for physical media players. So, is there hope for a 50th year anniversary reunion of Oppo users in Menlo Park?
JohnAV, get to work on that.

Meanwhile, in order to prevent HeatEquation from dropping into a total state of depression, the industry is slowly getting its upstream ducks in a row, e.g. as I mentioned above - http://www.marquise-tech.com/press-r...ise_NAB18.html <-note ST 2094-40 included support.

I don’t know, but I doubt it. Probably the most you’ll get are scattered decentralized tidbits on this and perhaps other threads around the forum. The exhibits at the NAB booths can be quite technical, e.g.

As far as we know, no-one has been able to demonstrate that ANY of the Amazon Prime Video streams are actually HDR10+ yet, anywhere in the world. Amazon themselves say this on the subject:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201648150&sa-no-redirect=1
Quote:
Prime Video Title Availability
HDR Prime Video titles are offered in two (sic - should be 3) formats:
HDR (sic - should be "HDR10")*- HDR titles feature an "HDR" label as well as HDR purchase and viewing options in the video details.
HDR10+*- Select UHD Samsung TVs (2017 and later models) can stream Prime Video content In the HDR10+ format. If your television is compatible, and the Prime Video title supports it, an "HDR10+" label appears instead of the normal "HDR" label in the video details.
Dolby Vision*– Certain HDR titles feature Dolby Vision, which is the Dolby Labs HDR standard. For these titles, a "Dolby Vision" icon shows in the video details instead of an "HDR" label.
So, I'm still waiting for one person to post one screenshot showing the HDR10+ logo proudly displayed in the Amazon Prime Video app for one HDR title. Until I see that, as far as I'm concerned all the people with Samsung 2017 TVs who think they are getting HDR10+ are just seeing a placebo effect. After all, if the streams really were HDR10+, Amazon would be shouting it from the rooftops on Amazon wouldn't they? Since they are the first and only provider of this new format? They wouldn't be burying all knowledge of which streams were in which format, or mislabelling them all, that would be ludicrous...

Actually if you read his article, John Archer did not provide a source. He's written the article twice and has failed both times to actually publish a name and job title of anyone from Samsung who has supposedly given him (and only him) this information.
