No date set at this moment. I'll announce our 2018 TV Shootout date by early July.

Yes, and not to worry with what you apparently perceive as a lack of excitement during play, as (and, this is right up your alley ) according to Jimmy K., Russia has an official sponsor for the FIFA tournament and which, if you thoroughly take advantage of, like the couple here -

I think you could be seeing a bicycle kick on every play.

P.S.
I checked out the other forum on which you also post to see what’s cookin on their home page in relation to any World Cup news. Given that, one might get the impression the World Cup was only being contested in ‘Moscow, Russia from June 14 to July 15’ as indicated in one of the feature articles there.

Wrong, welcome to one of thee other host cities, Saransk ….https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44541388

I notice ray0414 has now thanked you for the post at the top of the page and therefore I’m assuming he has developed some additional interest in the HVS. Ray, far be it from me to comment on such things as normal anatomical and physiologic function of the human visual system with regards to color and light stimuli so, from more of a practical ($$) standpoint, just remember to wear sunglasses when playing poker with your buds, for as Poppy says, “your pupil doesn’t lie” -

Indeed. And they keep using the present tense when talking about HDR10+ content, yet there isn't any. Amazon still aren't using it: no Samsung 2017/2018 owner has ever reported seeing the HDR10+ marker appear on their screen, either on their own TV's UI, or the Amazon UI.

HDR10+ content simply does not exist outside of trade shows, no matter how many press releases they point out - all empty words.

yeah exactly. I'm not sure who these press releases are targeted at...

Surely they can't be targeted to the average consumer joe - Because if it's targeted to anyone else they will surely know that they're all, as eloquently as you put it, empty words as HDR10+ doesn't really exist yet and what we've seen thus far has been extremely shady.

Great that there *appears* to be momentum but it's just bizarre how they act like it's a legitimate product despite the fact that there's not even a demo of it yet, the last we heard from CES was that there were some major issues with even getting it to work right, and of course the entire shady mess concerning Amazon....

Maybe we're mistaken and Samsung really went the long game and the floodgates will just break down now and it'll be used all over the place since it's a relatively automated process that can be implemented basically by the click of a button.

Also, Florian has done consultant work for Samsung before (https://www.cepro.com/article/samsun..._open_standard). I don’t think it would be that difficult for Samsung to commission him and his website (https://hdr.avtop.com/hdr_solutions_avtop) as a proxy for access to an HDR10+ sample clip, as you’ll note his company already offers other free video sample downloads.

Lol.

As exciting as low scores and ties are, I'd rather sit thru a 20 part series on the history of the doily. In DV of course. I am down for a round of Plastic. Pele is buying.

For folks in and around Chatsworth showing interest in this type theatrical exhibition check out ‘Cinema 20’ at Pacific Winnetka 12 to really determine if you feel this is an upgrade over a DV presentation in a Dolby Cinema. For instance, Incredibles 2 is playing currently on the Samsung Onyx at Pacific Winnetka (https://tickets.fandango.com/transac...06%2f21%2f2018 ) and also in Dolby Vision at Dolby Cinema venues, e.g. - https://tickets.fandango.com/transac...06%2f21%2f2018

Over time, I think viewers will ascertain that DV tone maps better esp. in the shadows and midtones.
