Whenever I use the NETFLIX app through the Samsung TV, I noticed that my settings do change; is this a result of the HDR on Netflix? I heard their show Daredevil utilizes HDR so I'm wondering if I had my question of HDR already answered by watching some movies through their 4k selection.

In any case, I will test those clips via a USB stick and look into it more.

Another question; I see Amazon has Life of Pi in 4k set for next week but every other movie is still March 1st. Wondering when and if they will change this as I've seen nothing to indicate otherwise, especially with the Samsung player being released later today.
Its a glitch in the samsung software. Some people have it some don't.

IF i have UHD display but no HDR it's an LG 4k 2014 manufacturing date, does include HDMI version 2.0 and It's HDCP 2.2 compliant as per specs stated in LG site.once i get an UHD player and 4K discs will i be able to watch them in SDR or will be converted back to 1080p.

Thank you for clarifying my issue

So has anyone got one yet? Any pictures/unboxing would be very cool. And any of the FOX titles too. Is it 5pm that it goes on sale? I wish I was in Cali right now, wonder if I would get through customs with a player and all the fox titles they are releasing

I think the press release said they wouldn't be placing anything on sale until their press conference at 5pm (PST). And as ray pointed out, the units themselves may already be sold out.

Yep, according to another member he was told last night they are sold out already.

But after today, I think places like best buy and amazon will have the green light 2 start shipping as soon as they recieve stock. So maybe by next weekend we'll have a good amount of players in people's hands.

I think Best Buy is the best bet for getting it as early as reasonably possible (other than the sold out players today). If they don't ship it by early next week, then I'll change to have it in-store pickup next Friday (and pick up a movie or two there as well, if my Fox Connect movies haven't arrived. It's a long weekend. ).

Why would you want a front display on a BD player?

Default Samsung debuts world's first ultra-high definition Blu-ray player

Because i want to know where i am while watching a movie Instead of having to press a buttom to find out and beause it doesn't look like a cheapo player like today's feather weight players. Yes, i realized what's inside is what it counts and lots of people are fine with that, but i'm not. If i'm going to spend $400 on a new player and want all the bells and whistles inclunding a front display.

The earliest bluray players cost about $1000 -- and had no whistles and bells to speak of. So by comparison, $400 for this UHD deck is extremely reasonable.

Not having a dig was a genuine question.

My first DVD player had one and my many laserdisc players, but nothing since and I have not missed one

It looks like the Panasonic unit has a display but all shots I've seen of it thus far just show it saying "Play"

That's fine and all, and you guys have some valid points, but in my personal opinion, this thing should have had a front display. The one from Panny coming up has one and truly looks a like premium player( and probably will cost more too), but if i were to jump into the 4K wagon right now, i would be jumping all over that Panny.

Did they announced the price already? Also, does these new players have streaming apps? I'm not interested in streaming, just curious.
