So far I've had no issues with the new firmware. I haven't noticed any difference from v 1003. Everything has worked just as well as it did before.

Have not see an update. Not sure if they pulled it or are just doing waves.

I just received my player direct from Samsung and I did not receive a complimentary UHD disc in the box. I guess they are not doing that anymore

In addition, Best Buy should connect their LG OLED 4K Ultra HD display to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. I suggested this to one of the Best Buy salesmen and they told me that a while ago they suggested to their boss that the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player should be connected to a 4K Ultra HD OLED display. However, their boss was against the idea for some reason.

Retail stores need to start running demos of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs on 4K displays. Many 4K displays are connected to a 4K hard drive demo, etc.
There really is no incentive for Best Buy to do this until Samsung can provide them with a decent amount of stock. Why display something that sells out as soon as any show up?

Two questions:

1. Can this device stream 4K media such as Netflix?
2. Can it be set up on a Yamaha HTR-3067 and if yes how?

Not sure about the 2nd question, but it does stream 4k on Netflix. I've watched several shows and movies so far. It does not however offer them in HDR(not yet anyway).

Firmware 1004 has completely broken 4:4:4 for me. It worked fine on 1003. When I set HDMI Color to 4:4:4 the screen just flashes in and out like there's an EDID handshake error. Numerous calls to Samsung, and their reps don't even have a clue what 4:4:4 is. One of them told me the reason it's not working is because of my "old TV".

I have an LG 65EF9500, and Marantz SR6010.

I'm so fed up with this player. If there was another option in the states, I'd buy it right now.

You need to load a disc in, then picture will appear. After that, it will work as normal including having the ability to go to the home menu.

But then, is the home menu in 60p like when you turn on, or 24p.

The fact that Samsung pulled the firmware within 24 hours tells me they know it f'ed up people's machines and has nothing to do with an "old TV". Hopefully the next firmware update rectifies this.

They gave a complimentary disc before with BD players? Never heard of that. If so, that's really awesome.

Hmm.. Really? Can you elaborate a little more? If I have a disc in, and I set it to 4:4:4 it cuts in and out, and even if i navigate through the cutting in/out to play the disc, it still does it when the disc starts playing. Am i doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance! It's making me not want to watch my normal Blu's at the moment

Hmm, I haven't experienced any cutting in/out once the disc is loaded with this junk firmware. You and I appear to have the same display and player settings.

Was it always like that for you, or just with the newest firmware update?

Maybe is a bandwidth problem? And after the firmware the cable bandwidth is barely enough so it intermittently drops out?

That's why I asked about if the player menu being visible only after coming from the disc was in 24p. Because if it can't display at 60Hz but does at 24Hz (which is half the bandwidth) sounds similar to the HDMI 1.4 / HDMI 2.0 Level B 300Mhz 10.2Gbs limitation vs HDMI 2.0 Level A 600Mhz 18Gbs issue.

Just since the latest update, 1004. The previous firmware worked fine, and I couldn't be happier. I finished watching a normal Blu-Ray one night, and was greeted with a firmware update to version 1004. Ever since then, whenever HDMI color is set to anything but Auto, I get intermittent intermittent cutouts. Signal flashes on and off. My Blu-Ray player is plugged into my Marantz SR6010. If I plug the Blu-Ray player into the TV directly, I don't have any issues. But that's not exactly an option for me. The Marantz SR6010 supports 4:4:4 and worked great before 1004. The Marantz passes through BT.2020 perfectly too on UHD4k Blurays. However, when I play a normal one and check signao info on my AVR, its only 4:2:0. Prior to 1004, I was able to run 4:4:4 for normal Blus. :/
