One month away, this is really tempting. I was planning on waiting for the Panny. What to do... what to do...

Anyone else bothered by this not having separate buttons for FF and RW? You have to hold down the chapter skip button to do either which means it will probably only have one speed.

No. Many times as you hold it it slowly moves thru faster speeds, at least that is how other devices have been. Dont care either way.

Put movie in, play movie, take movie out.

The Phillips apparently will support Dolby Vision, so it might be worth waiting for. And I'm curious about the Panasonic -- perhaps the reason we don't have a US release date yet is some last minute improvements?

Really want to wait for reviews, but I now have $300 saved up and when I reach a little over $400 I'll be tempted to go ahead and order one of these... lol

Make sure you get the pre order before launch, its supposed to go up to 499 at actual release.

That's nice. But will we still have to wait until March 1st for movies?

As of right now yes, but the player offers a handful of apps that can get 4k/hdr content.

I think alot of people were worried that the player would be delayed and the discs would be out way before the player. The player itself is the bigger /more difficult piece of the puzzle. So if that beats the discs by 2 weeks, that is great news.

I would imagine so. But at least we'll have a few weeks to test out the player before those launch titles arrive.

I wouldn't hold your breath guys, we'll get the players when we get them. The manufacturers might hold them back until the summer when the 2016 TV model ranges will be in full swing, although with Euro 2016 and the Rio Olympics (it's gonna be a cracking summer of sport!) presenting tasty marketing opportunities to flog TVs the disc spinners could have a harder time of it. Dunno.

To be honest, I'm kind of pissed that Crutchfield (my pre-order) won't even give an estimated date (no, I'm not going to change my order).
