Okay, a really stupid question that may have been answered already. How do you get "tools" to work on the remote? Whenever I press this function, nothing happens. I'm using the player with an Epson 1080p projector. Perhaps it only works with 4k displays? Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Here are Vudu's break outs on picture quality. SD = DVD quality HD = 1280x720 HDX = 1920x1080 UHD = Their version of 4K W/o a Roku 4 or a Vizio approved tv Vudu will not let you view UHD format of their movies, even if you own an UHD format of a movie. |

Alrighty so I finally got my player up and running on my Sony XBR55900C. I'v changed the settings on the player to Dynamic and really noticed a difference in the picture quality. Any other suggestions? I recall others mentioning enhanced or RGB or something? Is that a TV setting or player?

Try a different port. You need a port which is HDCP 2.2, otherwise it'll downscale to 1080p.

The HDMI port you plug in to must be HDCP 2.2 compliant and you want HDMI UHD Color turned ON on that input. and Deep Color in the player turned OFF.

Check to make sure Samsung player output is set to 2160p. I don't know much about your Samsung TV, but on my Sony 930C I had to change the HDMI port setting from 'standard' to 'advanced' to get HDR.

What cable make and model are you using? It may not have enough bandwidth and is causing handshake issues. You should use 18 Gbps HDMI.org Certified cables. You don't have to spend a lot for those. |

Guys I really need your help on this one.
I am curious as to why the background color of the skyline and such come off washed/pixilated. I'm not exactly sure what that is called but here is a shot I took of The Martian 4K and notice the background. Is that normal? Is there a way to fix it? My TV set is properly calibrated and its Ultra 4K but it doesn't have HDR support, is that what's causing it? Then I also remembered that The Martian does not have the best 4K scan so I am not sure what if its the set or the transfer. It's not something extremely bothersome but I'm very videophile and I like near perfection in my picture quality. I would highly appreciate any input you have on this. Here are the screens: ![]() ![]() |
