Hi yes as soon as I plugged the player in and set up the wifi settings I downloaded and installed the latest firmware. I hope they update the player to allow HDR on Netflix (it's nice to have a second option rather than just using the TV app.) The resolution settings on the player are set to auto.

Interesting Elaniel that you have the same issues with the same TV, note the HDMI port which is hooked up to the Samsung Blu-ray player on my TV is set to "Enhanced HDMI Signal." I doubt it is the TV that is causing the issue since all of the other HDMI ports which I have hooked up to a pc, playstation 3 etc, don't have this no signal issue.

I don't have the issues any longer. On the UHD player, what settings do you have for video? Also, is it going through a receiver or direct to the TV?

That happens to me too even though I have a non-HDR TV. I think it is soemthing to do with the player because my first UBD-K8500-before being replaced-was doing the same

So after you got a replacement player the issue went away?

No it continued with the new unit, but it happens so infrequently and so briefly that it doesnt bother me too much...Sometimes the player can go on and on for hours without any of those HDMI hanshake issues or whatever you want to call them

when I play a uhd disk like dead pool when the menu pops. Up resume if I hit no I have a no signal display till I hit the home key . I also have noticed my 850c gets stuck on HDR mode when I go from uhd to blu Ray.

My Sony 850C TV does that occasionally when I switch channels, even when I'm not using the Sammy, so it could be that the problem might be with the Sony and not with the Samsung. It happens to me on both. Is anyone else experiencing this with a different TV?

I also have a Sony BD player connected to the same TV and that never happens with the Sony. It only happens when using the Samsung UHD player

Default Multi-region blu-ray capability?

Hello all,

Has anyone seen anything about a firmware update/mod or any information in regards to this player being able to play back Region B, C blu-rays?

I ask this question understanding that UHD discs are region free.

Thanks

Region free bluray playback is pretty hard to come by unless you get a cheap a specific unit that boasts that feature(ie some cheaper or higher end brands). Samsung havent had a simgle region free BD player to my knowledge. Dont expect them to start now.

Thanks for the two cents. I was moreso thinking along the lines of a mod like what is done with the Oppo 103/105D and Pioneer BD62FD.

Thanks again though

Stupid question: The player won't work when connected to a TV HDMI port of 30hz, correct? The HDMI port on the TV must be 60hz in order to process UHD signal from the player?

I was having this issue too, then realised it was only happening when I hit eject when a UHD was playing. If I hit stop first and let the player go back to its splash-screen the TV then comes out of HDR mode. Never had the problem since hitting stop first, then eject.

I can get DD+ from Netflix on the K8500. Although I don't think all Netflix titles have 5.1 DD+. And of course if you are playing back the 2.0 track you will have pcm audio.

I have the Main HDMI connected to TV and the Audio HDMI connected to one of the AVR's HDMI Inputs...
Titles like DareDevil and Jessica Jones which I always stream from my TV, Roku, and Sony BD player are in DD+ are not showing in DD+ though the player's Netflix app. That does not make sense...
