Interesting Elaniel that you have the same issues with the same TV, note the HDMI port which is hooked up to the Samsung Blu-ray player on my TV is set to "Enhanced HDMI Signal." I doubt it is the TV that is causing the issue since all of the other HDMI ports which I have hooked up to a pc, playstation 3 etc, don't have this no signal issue. |

That happens to me too even though I have a non-HDR TV. I think it is soemthing to do with the player because my first UBD-K8500-before being replaced-was doing the same

No it continued with the new unit, but it happens so infrequently and so briefly that it doesnt bother me too much...Sometimes the player can go on and on for hours without any of those HDMI hanshake issues or whatever you want to call them

My Sony 850C TV does that occasionally when I switch channels, even when I'm not using the Sammy, so it could be that the problem might be with the Sony and not with the Samsung. It happens to me on both. Is anyone else experiencing this with a different TV?

Hello all,
Has anyone seen anything about a firmware update/mod or any information in regards to this player being able to play back Region B, C blu-rays? I ask this question understanding that UHD discs are region free. Thanks |

Region free bluray playback is pretty hard to come by unless you get a cheap a specific unit that boasts that feature(ie some cheaper or higher end brands). Samsung havent had a simgle region free BD player to my knowledge. Dont expect them to start now.

I was having this issue too, then realised it was only happening when I hit eject when a UHD was playing. If I hit stop first and let the player go back to its splash-screen the TV then comes out of HDR mode. Never had the problem since hitting stop first, then eject.

I can get DD+ from Netflix on the K8500. Although I don't think all Netflix titles have 5.1 DD+. And of course if you are playing back the 2.0 track you will have pcm audio.

Titles like DareDevil and Jessica Jones which I always stream from my TV, Roku, and Sony BD player are in DD+ are not showing in DD+ though the player's Netflix app. That does not make sense... Last edited by RockyIII; 05-30-2016 at 03:48 PM. |
