Hopefully It's not a persistent issue. I wasn't sure if it was my receiver or the player.

I am running mine the same way as you 1 HDMI from Player to the TV then HDMI 2 From the player to my Sound Bar. I thought the same thing also. What I found has helped is by going into settings and set the resolution to 2160P instead of Auto.

I have noticed my receiver "clicking" and sound cutting out whilst the PS4 has been on. Maybe I'm due an upgrade in that department. Hmm. |

Ok guys I need some help. i am noticing that when I play any bluray disc in my UHD Samsung I am getting that "snowflake" effect or whatever it is called, which is very noticeable particularly when the screen goes black but also slightly noticeable when the picture is on. I tried to switch HDMI cable but the sparkles/snowflakes are still there. My Sony BD player which is also hooked up to the same receiver doesnt do that, so I know it is not the TV or the receiver or even the discs I am playing to cause this.
How does this happen usually? Should I power off the Samsung for 10 seconds then power back on or what advice can you give me? Thanks! Last edited by RockyIII; 07-20-2016 at 09:55 AM. |

I was toying around with the apps feature on this player yesterday, and is there a way to change what apps appear under "My Apps" on the home page? I'd like to have Vudu, Netflix, and Amazon Video loaded there, but I haven't been able to make any adjustments. Also, it seems that when I launch Vudu, it doesn't download the app to the player; it just opens it from the Internet.
Also, I was impressed by the quality of Vudu's stream. I had been using the Vudu app on my Oppo 103, but it looked like Vudu on the Samsung streamed at a higher quality. I didn't see any pixilation in dark scenes, which, while the stream on the Oppo does look good, it is something I have noticed on it when watching something on Vudu. |

Nope... Any of the apps on the top ribbon cannot be moved to the MyApps section. Dumb. Bad design in my opinion. The most common apps take an extra 2-5 remote clicks to launch them. I hate that.

I have the Sony 930d HDR 4K TV and a Sony Sound Bar HTCT-780 That has 4K pass through but not HDR pass through. I have it connected with 1 HDMI to The TV from the Player then the Second HDMI from the Sound Bar to the Player. Using 4K Cables. What I have found is that this player does not play well with my sound bar for some reason. If I turn my sound bar on when I turn the player on it will disconnect when I upload a Disc saying its not compliant and then scales down to 1080p but If I start the player first wait for the movie to load then turn my sound bar on it works fine with no problems. Was wondering if anyone else had any similar problems with this player and if this is common.

I had to turn off the CEC setting on the player on my setup cause it was changing my soundbar's input when I loaded a disc, try that

I had to do that too during my initial setup or otherwise simply truning my TV on would turn on the player even when I was not going to use it

With my previous dispaly (Vizio D), this was not an issue. It took me a while to figure out why simply turning TV on would automatically turn the Samsung player on. It was getting annoying because I would try to just watch some Netflix from the TV app store and the Samsung would switch on every time

1080, if you set to auto the player will upscale. Not sure what the auto feature does, might as well leave it on 2160.

I am getting a far better 1080 PQ with player set at 1080, and I also notice less visual artifacts that way |

Yup, and the color format setting as well from RGB standard to RGB enchanced, at least with my TV. Is that what you do?

I use RGB standard for blurays and enhanced for UHD's, I got those setttings from someone in this thread who had the same TV as I do. I thought the 4:4:4 was for HDR which I don't have

Turning off HDMI-CEC in the K8500 Did help. I also think I may have had bad HDMI Cables. You shouldn't lose audio by just touching the cable. So I bought better cables and everything seems to be working fine now.
