The universal remote I bought is def much nicer, one thing that is cool is it does frame by frame fast forward as well.
Dont bother... on-screen commands are a waste, especially if you already have universal remote.
It is very dumb to have on-screen commands that disappear on a timer...You can rewind ot fastforward through a scene, but once you are ready to click on the PLAY icon the on-screen commands are long gone!

Edit - for $250 I couldn't pass up, so I rebought it again yesterday.

Now for that 65" B6 in a month or two...

can anyone share the correct player's picture settings for playing UHD discs on non UHD displays? Not sure if resolution must be set on Auto or 1080, and if I have to change color space or leave on auto...I tried to play Warcraft UHD disc on my Sony projector but I must be doing something wrong as the picture looks worse than on regular bluray

If you choose Auto on resolution it will choose highest resolution your projector is capable of, so 1080 assuming your projector is Bluray right? I leave it on Auto for color space.

So you play UHD's on your projector to get the better sound format? Why not just play the bluray and use DSU?

Because Dolby Atmos is not included in the bluray. But UHD looks like poop compared to bluray on my HD projector...It looks dark, muddy, with major black crush, and the colors are dead

You could just use the DSU which from my experience is still pretty good, not quite as distinct height sounds as true Atmos tho

Not sure why UHD would look poorly on your projector but I imagine compared to your 4k HDR display it's night and day. If there was more 4k content out there I would go out and buy an HDR display today cause there's a noticeable bump in overall PQ compared to my non HDR 4k set. Colors on bluray do look dead compared to an HDR image with WCG

I would expect the uhd to look at least as decent as the regular bluray. Not worse.
By the way I also have an Oled C6 for HDR viewing

How will that bring it down to $189.99? The extra $70 manufacturer's discount lasts until the 16th, or is Samsung going to extend it?

Costco has a "normal price" of 299.99 so the $110 instant mfg rebate brings the price down to $189.99. Unfortunately in my state the sales tax is on the pre-rebate price. While in Costco Saturday I picked up the Holiday Saving flyer which showed the sale price.

I personally don't plan to buy this unit and will wait for next years units to come out before I make a decision on what to buy. In the past I have found the second years models of new technology offer better features at a much better price.

So for the past month or so, we have had this remote, and we like it.

It definitely is a great upgrade over the factory remote.

Going to take that flyer to BB to price match, since I just repurchased the K8500 for $250 there last week.

lol. That is true. This one works better, like being able to fast forward and rewind with having to go back to the chapter breaks. Plus, it's big enough to not get lost in the couch!

Friggin' factory remote piece of crap...I lost count how many times I just wanted to rewind or fastforward within same scene and the thing skipped to next scene altogether

This is why I'm here. I already have my 4K television and am building up a collection of 4K titles, but I don't want to buy a current 4K Blu-ray player.

So do we know anything about when the 2nd gen players are coming out?
