The Martian was a great film, so I highly recommend that to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Hey, when did the debates of the movie subforums find their way here? There's a reason I avoid those sections...

In any case, Mad Max, Sicario, and The Martian are my first pickups. Ive avoided seeing Mad Max (bought the steelbook) and the latter two (didnt buy the regular blus early) in anticipation of 4K.

I dont think Ill rebuy any other part of my collection, although Spiderman 2 and Exodus are somewhat tempting.

I was referring to the early sale that is happening today in Cali. I read that they would have the Fox wave on sale at the same time but Penton told said they weren't which is a shame. Would have liked to read some consumer reviews.

Mad Max would look the best of the 3.

Yes, I would consider that a notable exception.

They would be my picks, I haven't bought the majority of new releases apart from things like the Marvel films because I don't want to have to double dip. I'd rather just wait for the UHD release.

The double dip on some movies bothers me, like the studios that haven't declared yet - i.e., The Good Dinosaur, The Force Awakens.

And whenever the heck we get Mockingjay Pt 2.

I'm gonna hate double dipping. Maybe only for steelbooks.

I know it's anathema to the "collector", but you could always... wait.

The only panacea to my "must-have" itch is to...must have it.

I waited for Sicario & The Martian.

I will wait for most others. Not Mockingjay/Spectre (damn steelbooks...you said it yourself, "the collector") or Force Awakens. Good Dinosaur, Creed, Bridge of Spies, The 33 - those can wait.

If it's a newer movie from the majors, it can wait. I made an exception though with Everest because of the 3D.

Ain't that the kicker? No 4K TV and no 4K discs to even play on it anyway. Still doesn't stop me from being insanely jealous though.

It's always the way. Not having any 4K discs I can understand, but a dude who don't even got a 4K TV is the first to walk away with a 4K Blu-ray player? Fate is a cruel mistress
