Just got an email from Bestbuy, with a new release date. Should have the player delivered on Wednesday.

Wow the location the guy got it from is 5min from my work!!!! darn it. If i would have checked AVS earlier I might have gotten it today.

He did mention they had one on display... might try to swing by there afterwork to check it out.

Issue is he mentioned that they didn't have any UHD disc in store, an actually tried to sell him a "mastered in 4K" Sony title. So unless Fry's has a demo UHD disc i don't know what they could be actually showing.

Apparently there are movie-only demo discs being supplied, so it's basically just a transport stream on a disc and not the final retail pressing.

I'm "antsy" to have one "first", but without any content...no point in rushing off to Best Buy on the 10th when Robert & Value Elec will ship me mine a week later.

I also got the Best Buy 2/10 release date e-mail. Hmm, do I switch it to in-store pickup despite not knowing for sure if the stores near me will have any in stock that day? I do have Elite Plus expedited shipping, so I would hope that I will receive it by Wednesday if I stick with receiving it by mail.

I already deleted my preorder off there once I got on Robert's list here.

Rubbish, because I literally ordered it the instant that it was available for sale.

I'd prefer the known over the unkown.

Im glad I have to spend the next week on vacation and setting up my new display and AVR, as well as a new DVR install.

And then the following week work is nuts. Maybe once those days are past it'll be close to time to enjoying some UHD blu-ray. Im really stoked about The Martian UHD, I have not seen the movie yet.
