What a diaster this has been. First I ordered through Amazon way back in January only to get no where with them. So end of January I cancel and change to best buy. I decide to do in store pick up. To my surprise, I wake up this morning with a email saying my order is ready for pick up. So here I am waiting anxiously for Best buy to open, to only get a phone call 15 mins before they open from the manager at Best Buy saying it was a mistake, and they have no 4k players in their store. And next truck isnt until Thursday and its still not guarenteed they will arrive.
So I go online and change my order to shipping and pay for the express shipping, only to be notified that the item is on "back order". So remembering some people talking about Crutchfield, I raced to their website and chatted with them to be told they still have 21 units in stock. So I placed a order with overnight air. So lets hope this goes through, seeing as it costs me $30 for overnight air. I could have done free shipping, but after all this, I rather just have the damn machine in my hands. |

Yeah, the Best Buy here in Erie, PA has a Samsung rep in Home Theater that claims they don't think that they will have the player until March 1. There is no reason why they shouldn't be able to give a date. They should know how many players they can get. Anyway, my card has been billed for my order at crutchfield and it is in the process of shipping. I am really happy with how crutchfield handles orders.

I see in-store pickup available now as well.....but the catch is that the available date is 2/18, next Thursday. So there's no real incentive to switch to in-store pickup if you have to wait an extra week to get the player.

And my order, which I placed on Jan 15, is still preparing for shipment and I was told it is at the warehouse still, not moving yet. My plan is just to wait until it ships and meanwhile I will check the stores starting the 11th to see if I can locate any movies assuming they will have any. Doesn't hurt to check. AVS forum is showing many people had their orders go from pickup to backordered, yikes!

Just got several emails from Best Buy updating the release dates for Fox launch titles to this Sunday. And they're supposed to arrive in the mail by Monday. Of course that's assuming they ship them sooner than they did the Samsung players and they use UPS and not USPS since Monday is a holiday.

Uh-oh.
The BB web site is now listing 2/17 for new order delivery. Even in-store pickup is listed as 2/18. That doesn't bode well for the 2/10 delivery I was promised when I placed my order... |

BB rep says my 2/10 delivery date is now 2/11. I wonder how much further it will slip.
