Ah i see. Is there a certain HDMI port that I would need to use on the JS7000? Should I run it directly to the tv or can I run it through my Dolby Atmos receiver?

I guess the missus finally got tired of my impatience.

Because I received quite possibly the best Valentine's Day gift ever.

A while back someone asked if you can step forward frame by frame. Don't think I saw it answered. Don't seem to be able to with the included remote but can with the remote for my Sony TV.

Depends on your reciever.

Most people are using the dual HDMIs thougb. Video going directly to tv, audio to reciever. With this method you need not worry about the reciever not having HDMI 2.0a

Is it better on this player to use RGB(standard), RGB(enhanced), or YCbCr 4:4:4? Any help with this will be greatly appreciated! Also, I have the Sony 55x850c TV if that helps.

Just got a bunch of e-mail updates from Best Buy saying that all the UHD titles due out on 2/28 have been delayed to 3/1. Not a big deal. It's only 2 days and that was the original release date anyway, but I thought I'd pass that along.

I'm sure if they're available in stores early, Tyrok will pass that info along.

Thanks for the info. I leave work in an hour and wont hook it up till about 11pm cst tonight. Can you please post your player settings and let me know if you had to change and where any settings in the tv. No receiver for now, just using optical to a sound bar till I decide whether keeping it or not.

Otherwise, should it be plug and play for us Sony owners???

TIA,

Samsung 65" JS8500
Denon X-4000

Using dual HDMI from the K8500.

Can report no problems whatsoever, no banding on the Martian, and amazing image quality. I've been watching the first ten minutes of The Martian and Kingsman over and over.

Wow. That HDR really is the craziest difference. Anybody who says they can't see the difference is lying to themselves.

Deep Color is off on the player, UHD color is ON on the TV.

Great to hear as My home theater also uses the same video/audio chain as you

Well got the player hooked to my Sony 49X850b and WOW, very simple to install, used the settings from several members and up and running in about 30 mins. Started by watching 1 hour of The Martian. Let me tell you, I am seeing details that I did not see in my 2k Sony projector shooting at 110" screen. The space suit uniform shots are incredibly real as if I am there with him. No banding or color crushing issues at all. I got a message upon initial start of the movie to connect to UHD 4k with HDR television but the message disappeared in few seconds on its own and the movie started.

Thank you Sony for making this an easy connection. The player is a keeper and may upgrade to a 55 or 65 model.

trying to decide wether to order the player from BB now or wait and see if there's a decent price drop anytime soon! I would hate to buy this and then it drop $50 or more within a month or two but at the same time I want to see what my UHDTV is actually capable of. Man oh man the difficult decisions we all face in the world today lol....
