Must admit, I would be curious about this please.

Also wondering if the power cable is removable or fixed into the player please.

No clue on power, take a look at the manual on line. The power cord is detachable.

Over on AVSForum, someone took it apart and I believe he said only 110V.

You'd have to confirm it over there though .

The US model is 110 volt. Picture below is taken from the US manual.

The European model coming next month will be 220 volt.

Still no news on a pre order for the Samsung player in the UK, am beginning to think it isn't coming out in March.

I predict it will probably be April/May before we see anything.

I don't know, but the European release dates swirling around internet are March 29 for the Samsung and April 11 for the Panasonic.

RRP 499 euros for Samsung UBD-K8500 and 899 euros for Panasonic DMP-UB900.

I'm not worrying too much. We still haven't had many of this years TVs made available yet. But if it comes in at £400 I'm probably not going to bother jumping on it right away. I'd rather wait a few more months until the LG C6 drops on our shores. The player will likely have dropped by then hopefully £350 or less.

You can actually pre-order the Panasonic DMP-UB900 on Swiss websites for 849 Swiss franc (ca. 774 euros).

Panasonic DMP-UB900EGK

I guess the Samsung will follow shortly.

This (Google translated) article says that also the Samsung UBD-K8500 will be released March 29 in France:

Both are pretty comprehensive from the reviews I've read, the Disney disc is more accessible and the Spears one more comprehensive. It's probably worth picking up the cheaper Disney release and seeing how well you get on with it.

There's also a lot of tutorials on AVforums, they're worth checking out to see how far you want to get into it!

I'm sure we'll see a UHD BD Calibration disc on the market, so it's worth keeping an eye out for one.

I finally get to play with it again today for the first time since Monday. Going to give it it's official spot on my TV stand and wire it properly.

Let's see if I can be more critical today.
