I've about given up on watching loud levels. I'm not as bad as I used to be in my twenties, but I still crank 'er. I enjoy it too much not to. |

It doesn’t matter for UHD. It’s a misconception. Either setting will work the same, I leave it on Wide. But it’s fun to set it to Wide for SDR content, such as LD. It makes it look so beautiful. I can’t ever remember LDs looking better than they do on an OLED.

Yes because you're letting the LUT box handle the mapping. Otherwise I heard that 'wide' forces the widest gamut onto the content, thus shifting the colourimetry of the primaries and secondaries, green in particular which occupies a very different co-ordinate in 2020 than it does in P3 inside 2020 as per UHD encoding.

There’s no such thing as Normal. My posted setting and conversation is in regards to C8. Auto or Wide is exactly the same for UHD. But Wide gets interesting for SDR... There’s also the extended setting, which is incorrect for UHD.

Regarding pro video calibration: you've never been more wrong. you must stop handing out bad info to members who are seeking genuine, informed views.

This logical fallacy furthers the point. You have to presume that members here are incapable of identifying a proven professional in order to drive home your point. I can tell you factually the the couple guys in the States I'd recommend are world class within the profession. You need to stop what you're doing all over this forum. Sincerely. |
