we don't need em...

we'll likely have a strong 2008 1Q...

plus we still have to hear if Warner is releasing titles like Batman Begins and etc...

we'll have too many top notch titles at that point and the weeks after Dec. 4th will allow all the new Blu-ray owners to play catch-up....instead of purchasing the newest titles and thus pushing the previous titles to the wayside...

I'm still playing catch up myself....

not everyone buys BD's at the rate that people do at this site...

when people see the setup I have and that I have 22 Blu-rays (a bunch of you will say "only 22?")...but they see the setup I have knowing I am in school and have a bullshit job...they assume I sell drugs or something...

I saw two that I'd buy if they were Blu:

Pride and Prejudice - the music was quite good.
Bourne

Sorry Universal - you won't be seeing my $$ until you change colors.

Dec 11 is huge! All the harry pothead films are coming out.

And quite honestly, I would buy quite a few of uni's titles if there were blu. But i'll just wait until they come to the blu-side. May the force be with you!

There are some good HD-DVD exclusives, but I can't justify a player for 5-6 must have movies, especially when I can't afford all the BD's I want.

The Kingdom, Eastern Promises, Jason Bourne Collection, Tremors, Wierd Science (depending on transfer) and maybe I Now Pronouce You Check And Larry. Considering I have 28 blu-rays in the fourth quarter, this is a pretty week offering.

Not to harp on this but "The Kingdom" on DVD in December? That is a VERY fast transition to stores from theater isn't it?

They're desperate for day and date titles in the 4Q (this is why they "bought off" Paramount/DW. Everyone knows day and date titles sell better, and perhaps that the future of HD DVD itself lies in having a 4Q where they catch Blu-Ray in sales...

For me the biggest problem is not what Universal releases but the quality they put into each release. Every time I peak at a HD DUD review the PQ is 3 of 5 stars (much of the time anyway). And then throw in the fact that they don't include lossless audio makes me wonder why anyone cares.

There are several titles that I would buy if done right on Blu-ray.

Because it directly affects the format war, and if true, is very poor for HD-DVD.

I would have expected at least 3-4 more blockbuster catalouge titles.

Maybe Universal really are holding back until they go dual format?

dammit, the kingdom looks good too. the rest of those titles are lame i think. inside man was good, but the pq and sq would have to be amazing to make my buy it. but since i am blu only i guess thats not so much of a problem for me.
