I wonder if Amazon will be shipping these without the slipcovers. They did that to me last year with the Academy Award edition blu-rays. Hopefully the U-100's will be available at BB or Target.

Does anyone know if some of these repackaged blu's have any additional special features? Such as the Bourne movies? Or are they simply the same release plus the special slipcover?

Catalog titles are STILL coming out, and at the same rate as usual. Repackaging takes nothing away from their steady stream of blu-ray work.

And no, you don't have to wait for an anniversary, but 100 years is pretty significant.

guys I think you will really like these new slip covers. I was at Target today and saw all of them up close. Apparently Target must have released most the ones due out on 1/10/12 a bit early. They actually open up like a slip book and theres brief synopsis discuss their importance in pop culture I believe(didn't really read it though). Al you probably already seen the pics on the slip cover thread.

As has mentioned before the ones being re-released come with that nice slip, a dvd, and most with a digital copy(except for A Beautiful Mind). Some of these like The 40 year old Virgin, Apollo 13, Knocked Up(not currently part of the U100), Carlito's Way(not currently part of the U100), and Out of Africa were already re-released with a dvd and a digital copy, now the only difference seems to be the slip and a higher price ,except for Out of Africa which seems like the only one getting a new transfer.

Yes, Waterworld, you know, that enjoyable movie which everyone decided to bash just because it was the cool thing to do? But it's so much better than a lot of the crap that passes for entertainment these days.

I'm wondering if they will include the extended version on this release! I hope they do!

Yeah, I was at Target today and went ahead and picked up Inglourious Basterds. I like the new cover much better than the original one. The slipcover is nice.

No they are not. The extended version, while edited for tv, is one of the better extended editions ever released. It improves on the already enjoyable film so much.

I recently bought field of dreams for 7.99 at best buy.

I'm really hoping the Classic Monster Collection does happen. If not, at least Univsersal should give us Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein.

I don't know since I haven't bought one of these yet and didn't even occur to me to look at the digital copy info when I saw them at Target last Friday but, I'm assuming they will all be itunes compatible. Sony and Warner seem to be the only ones pushing ultraviolet. Also I read in an article somewhere that universal plans to distribute their future releases with both ultraviolet and itunes compatible codes.

I don't see a reason at the moment. So far they are releasing only one catalog title per month.

Just got 8 Mile and Field of Dreams delivered from Amazon. FoD has way more features but they're the same as were included in the 2009 release.

Doesn't look like a double dip unless you really love the packaging.
